Sidney Crosby is a Canadian ice hockey player in the National Hockey League. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins as the first overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry draft and is currently serving as captain for the Penguins. Dreaming of excelling in the sport, he started his junior hockey journey with the Rimouski Oceanic where he achieved a lot of accolades and helped his team to the 2005 Memorial Cup Finals. He made a solid impact in junior hockey and Oceanic and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League retired his jersey number 87 in 2019.

Crosby debuted in the NHL during the 2005-2006 season. He quickly showcased his talent by becoming a runner-up for the Calder Memorial Trophy, given to the Rookie of the Year. He had a contribution of 102 points in his rookie season. Crosby soon reached the 100-point score in a single NHL season and became the youngest player ever to do that. In his second NHL season 2007-2008, he won the Art Ross Trophy for his contribution of 120 points. With this honor, he became the youngest and only player to achieve this title in the North American sports league. He also secured the Hart Memorial Trophy as the Most Valuable Player of the league and the Ted Lindsay Award for the most outstanding player.

Sidney was named as the captain of the Penguins in the 2007-2008 season. He led the Penguins to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2008 but they were ultimately defeated by the Detroit Red Wings in six games. However, the Penguins managed to reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2009 and this time, they claimed the victory. Sidney became the youngest captain at the age of 21 years to lead his team to win this prestigious trophy.
