Matt Hardy praises TNA's unsung hero behind the scenes (Exclusive)

Matt Hardy has featured prominently on TNA programming since returning to the company in April. In an exclusive interview, the 49-year-old revealed how Tommy Dreamer has played an instrumental role backstage over the last few weeks.

Dreamer is widely regarded as one of the most creative people in the wrestling industry. The 53-year-old has worked in various roles for TNA since 2018, including producer, wrestler, and writer.

Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling's Senior Editor Bill Apter, Hardy had nothing but praise for Dreamer's creative input. He also said TNA has improved under its parent company, Anthem Sports & Entertainment, compared to his last run with the promotion in 2017:

"I feel like it has more structure now, now that Anthem is there," Hardy stated. "I'm dealing with Tommy Dreamer. He's kind of like the lead when it comes to us with creative. I've loved working with Tommy. It's been a blessing and just a pleasure to work with Tommy across the years, so having Tommy kinda be the guiding force in the current Hardy Boyz run, we kinda collaborate when we talk about creative. It's been great, and that's what's really enjoyable."

Matt Hardy's brother Jeff also returned to TNA recently after a seven-year absence. On the July 18 episode of IMPACT, he left the taping on a stretcher after suffering a ringside attack.

Matt Hardy has enjoyed his latest TNA run so far, and he thinks the company will continue to grow in the coming years:

"I feel like they're organized, they have a direction, and they're doing a really good job at telling good stories and giving pretty damn good in-ring action, because I think they have a hell of a roster, actually. I think if they had a bigger platform, TNA could be doing really, really well now. They're on AXS TV; they've got the TNA+ app. I just want to see them grow, and if we're there, I definitely wanna make them grow."

Hardy won the TNA World Heavyweight Championship twice during his previous run with the company. He also captured the tag title twice with Jeff.
