Calcutta Football League 2024 Points Table: Updated standings on July 16
On Tuesday, July 16, George Telegraph SC beat Eastern Railway Sports Club in the 55th match of the Calcutta Football League 2024. Bhawanipore Club defeated ASOS Rainbow AC in the 56th while Calcutta Customs Club drew with Emami East Bengal FC in the next.
Bhawanipore registered their fourth victory over Rainbow AC 2-0. Rainbow scored an own goal in the 66th minute while Jiten Murmu netted a goal in the 81st minute. Bhawanipore find themselves undefeated, sitting at the top of the Group B points table with 13 points in their account.
East Bengal FC and Calcutta Customs Club drew 0-0 on Tuesday and retained their second and third spots with a goal difference of nine and seven, respectively.
Calcutta Police Club also retained their fourth position with three wins, one draw, and a goal difference of three. Similarly, Peerless SC and Kalighat Sports Lovers Association held their respective fifth and sixth position with six points each. Peerless have scored five goals against two while Kalighat have scored seven against as many.
George Telegraph moved from ninth to seventh with three losses in five games. However, they achieved their second win in their recent match against Eastern Railway, with Rajen Orao and Rakesh Karmakar each scoring a goal, leading to a 2-1 victory.
NBP Rainbow AC and Railway FC have slipped to eighth and ninth positions, respectively, with both teams recording only one win and two losses. Rainbow have accumulated five points, while Railway have four.
Tollygunge Agragami FC have won one of their four games. Meanwhile, Mohun Bagan SG, Eastern Railway, and Police AC remain in their current positions, still searching for their first win in their respective matches.
