Calcutta Football League 2024 Points Table: Updated standings on July 5
Suruchi Sangha secured their second victory over United SC 2-1 and secured the top spot with seven points on Friday, July 5. Souvik Ghosal and Jaideep Singh scored a goal each for Suruchi.
Aryan Club retained their second position with two wins and one loss. They have scored eight goals, including one in the most recent against Patha Chakra, and conceded only two so far.
BSS Sporting Club also retained their third spot with five points in their account. They drew their second game in a row in the previous match against Diamond Harbour 1-1.
After a two-match unbeaten streak, Mohammedan suffered their first loss against Kalighat 2-1 on Friday. They conceded two goals in the first half and later Israfil Dewann scored the only goal for Mohammedan in the 82nd minute. Diamond Harbour moved to fifth spot with one win and one draw. Similarly, Kidderpore also ascended from sixth to fifth after Kalighat’s victory.
Meanwhile, Kalighat secured their first win against Mohammedan on Friday with Dorjee Pasang scoring two goals in the 36th and 40th minutes. They are now ranked seventh in the points table with four points to their name. Army Red retained their eighth position with four points while United SC, despite a 2-1 loss, continue to sit at the ninth with two losses in three games.
Measures Club grabbed their maiden success against Southern Samity 2-1. Singh Radhakanta scored the opening goal in the first half while Murmu Sudipta netted the second in the latter half.
Wari Athletic Club, Patha Chakra, and Southern Samity continue to languish in the bottom three positions, respectively. They are eyeing their first victory in their upcoming games.
