Kerala Blasters midfielder Jeakson Singh has interest from three ISL clubs - Reports

The season of personnel switcheroo is well and truly underway in the Indian Super League (ISL) and a few big-money moves have already been made. The midfielder market has been ticking along steadily, and there's plenty of interest building around another hot-selling prospect.

Kerala Blasters' Jeakson Singh has interest from as many as three ISL clubs, the Times of India's Marcus Mergulhao reported. The 23-year-old still has a year left in his contract, so the club would be eager to fetch a significant fee for the defensive midfielder's sale.

"Jeakson has one more year left on his contract at Kerala Blasters but has interest from three clubs. KBFC will want a very high fee for his sale at this stage. I feel it might take a while for his future to be sorted," Mergulhao stated on X.

While the identity of the clubs hasn't been disclosed, previous reports have heavily linked Jeakson to Kolkata heavyweights East Bengal. After losing out on Apuia Ralte, the Red and Gold Brigade would understandably shift their focus to someone of Jeakson's caliber. Meanwhile, with Apuia's departure, Mumbai City FC too are expected to be in the race.

A brief look at Jeakson Singh's journey

Jeakson Singh has been one of the country's most consistent performers in international and club football. The Manipur-born midfield rose to fame after scoring India's historic first-ever goal in a FIFA World Cup during the U-17 tournament back in 2017.

His technical prowess, vision, and tenacity on the field quickly earned him a spot in Kerala Blasters' senior team, where he has been a consistent performer for over five years now. Jeakson's ability to control the midfield, break up opposition plays, and contribute defensively and offensively has made him an indispensable asset for the Blasters. Hence, it comes as no surprise that plenty of clubs are interested in attaining his signature.
