Conor Daly stays optimistic despite ‘frustrating day’ at the World Wide Technology Raceway
Juncos Hollinger Racing driver Conor Daly recently took part in the qualifying at the World Wide Technology Raceway held on June 14. He shared his thoughts about the same via social media, where he spoke about staying optimistic for the race on Sunday.
Daly posted a tweet for his followers reflecting on the qualifying session after he qualified in 15th place. The 33-year-old spoke about how the car needs a few adjustments and will be in an optimal position for the race. He wrote on X:
"Frustrating day so far but I think we’ve got a great race car for tomorrow. A few adjustments and we’ll be where we need to be. P15 #indycar @juncoshollinger @MannKindCorp"

As for his 2025 season, it is not off to a great start, as he qualified in 22nd place and finished the race in 17th place during the maiden race at the Firestone Grand Prix of St.Petersburg on March 2. At the Children's of Alabama Indy Grand Prix held on May 4, the 33-year-old driver qualified in 19th spot and finished in the same place.
During the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, Conor Daly qualified for the race in 25th place and finished the race in 17th place. The Juncos Hollinger Racing driver will be looking forward to scoring some points during the race.
Conor Daly shared his thoughts about the Canadian Grand Prix and the Indy 500 schedule
Conor Daly recently called out F1 for scheduling the Canadian Grand Prix on the same day as the Indianapolis 500. Many of the fans and drivers have spoken out against the same and have expressed their displeasure with the decision. Usually, the Indy 500, Monaco Grand Prix and the Coca-Cola 600 took place on the same day.
However, with the Canadian Grand Prix being held on the same day, which will begin at 2 pm halfway through the Indy 500, the race will end up clashing, which has never been the issue before.
Conor Daly spoke about the same via his podcast SpeedStreet, and he said he couldn't understand why the F1 GP was scheduled in such a manner. He said,
"This is the most arrogant of a shot you can take at just motorsport, in general, and motorsport fans... This is such a disrespectful move to those that just enjoy motorsport. Like why would you do that?"
He further added,
"This is a direct shot at us. It's almost like a declaration of war. Like this is crazy. I love going to the Canadian GP, think it's a great event, and I used to go all the time. I raced Formula Ford and 1600 at the Canadian GP when I was 15. I thought it was awesome. But it's just not necessary. When you talk about they're doing it for sustainability or whatever, it's not. It's literally to just try to flex." He added.
Conor Daly isn't the only IndyCar driver to express his disappointment. Scott McLaughlin also spoke about the matter and referred to it as 'single-handedly ruining Motorsport Xmas'
