Danica Patrick delivers brutally honest opinion on schedules, stress, and media monotony she experienced during NASCAR stint
Former racing driver Danica Patrick has given her take on the monotonous work schedules during a full-fledged NASCAR season. During her racing days, she competed in the Xfinity Series and the Cup Series, among other categories.
Patrick competed in a whopping 191 Cup Series races, during which she was able to put on board seven top-tens and a solitary pole position. In the Xfinity Series, she managed 61 appearances and secured an identical record as the Cup Series in terms of top tens and pole positions.
She recently appeared on the Believe in the Good podcast with Hailey Dillon, and from there, she shed light on how she doesn't miss the monotonous NASCAR schedules now that she is no longer racing (last NASCAR outing: 2018 Daytona 500).
In line with this, she added:
"What I don't care, I mean, the schedules, it's your whole life. It's relentless. I mean, I just, it's so nice to not care so much about every little thing all the time. Like who gives a s**t about the one practice, or the one qualifying, or even the one race. There are so many of them, but I did. It's so stressful." (1:03:23 - 1:03:47)
Moreover, while specifically shedding light on the interviews, she added:
"And, yeah, I don't miss the monotonous bulls**t interviews either, or like, media days or whatever, when you just carwash yourself around everything, oh my god, yeah, some of that stuff just got so tiring." (1:04:19 - 1:04:30)
Danica Patrick retired from all kinds of racing in 2018 after competing in the IndyCar's Indy 500.
Danica Patrick's take on Lewis Hamilton's tough start to life at Ferrari
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has joined the Ferrari outfit this year. He came into the Italian team hoping to fight for victories and championships, but the season has not gone according to plan for him so far.
He has found it extremely hard to get on top of the SF-25, and this has not allowed him to showcase his true potential. In line with the Brit's struggles, Danica Patrick gave her take on him during the Miami Grand Prix weekend.
"What’s up with Lewis? I don’t know, but all I can say is that he’s with a new team, and it always takes time to transition into a new team. The baked-in handling of the car, the methods in which they go about doing things, all of this stuff takes time to learn and get familiar with. These weekends happen so fast," Danica Patrick said via Crash.
Patrick, since retiring from racing, has become an esteemed motorsport pundit. She is often seen giving her analysis during the race weekends of top motorsport categories, and most recently, she was seen on last month's Indy 500 broadcast.
When it comes to Hamilton, he is currently in sixth place in the drivers' championship with 71 points. The current leader is McLaren's Oscar Piastri, who has so far managed to put on board an impressive 186 points.
