4 positives from Dabang Delhi’s win over Bengaluru Bulls
Dabang Delhi got their maiden win in season 3 of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League against Bengaluru Bulls in their previous match. The team gave it their all while playing the Bulls and their convincing performance saw them get a deserved win.
With the Eagles playing Puneri Paltan tonight, they will be looking to continue in the same way. Here we take a look at the positives from their performance against Bengaluru –
1) A complete team performance
Delhi came into the match against the Bulls with a positive mindset and they showed it on the mat. The defence was completely clued in and did not allow the Bengaluru raiders any room to manoeuvre.
Sandeep Dhull and Anil Kumar both picked up 4 points each while Ravinder Pahal scored 5 tackle points, keeping the opposition at bay.
2) Ravinder Pahal’s positive captaincy
Dabang Delhi were looking like a tired outfit before their previous match but the break did them a world of good. Captain Ravinder Pahal looked like his old self, timing his tackles to perfection and marshalling his defence perfectly.
The defender ensured that his defence was on its toes and was constantly talking to his teammates, telling them what their positions should be, encouraging them when needed, in the process helping his team to their maiden win.
3) Selvamani’s raiding a breath of fresh air
The return of youngster Selvamani to the side has given a tremendous boost to their raiding department. The tall, lanky raider has scored 12 points in the two matches he has played so far.
He has added a new dimension to Delhi’s raids as he looks to get touch points in general and uses his long frame to escape the defence.
4) Pahal’s stirring performance sets example
Ravinder Pahal’s performance so far this season wasn’t really up to his high standards as he didn’t look very fit and wasn’t hurling himself fearlessly into tackles as we have seen him do before.
He set the tone early in the match with a great tackle and kept his defence organised, making the Bulls attack work very hard for their points. His patented ankle hold was at its best and made life very tough for the opposition.
Binda, as he is fondly called, also went on raids and almost secured his team points, indicating that he was ready to put his body on the line.
