Lauren Gottlieb, Vidyut Jamwal to add Bollywood tadka to Delhi leg of Pro Kabaddi

Vidyut Jamwal

There would seem to be little in common between an actor deemed the “The New Age Action Hero of Bollywood” and a bubbly woman from the United States of America who is creating ripples in the sub-continent with her finesse on the dance floor.

One is an army kid, having lived across various parts of India owing to his father's transferable job and training in martial arts from an ashram in Kerala since he was three years old which was run by his mother. While the other is an artist who grew up plying her trade with people like Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes and Toby McGuire.

One is erudite, fancies a face off, lifts weights, and speaks to film enthusiasts. To the other, life beyond the stage is neither exciting enough, nor indeed apparent.

And yet there is one thing which connects Vidyut Jamwal and Lauren Gottlieb – their love for the game of kabaddi.

By their own admission they have been hooked to the sport immensely ever since the advent of the Pro Kabaddi League last year and over time have developed a liking for it. Another binding factor is the franchise they root for, and like so many of us it’s Dabang Delhi.

As much as it’s about passion for the two of them, it’s also a matter of great pride for us and thus these 2 Dabang Super Fans would grace our home matches over the next few days.

While Lauren would be there to flag off the proceedings tomorrow, Vidyut, who has played the game himself as an amateur will be present at the Dabang fortress – the Thyagaraj Stadium on the 11th. With them, let’s celebrate kabaddi, let’s celebrate the Dabang spirit for that is what makes the league so compelling for us.
