Mayur Kadam PKL Team 2024: Which team is the Indian defender playing for in Pro Kabaddi 2024?
The Bengal Warriorz have strengthened their defense after signing promising Indian defender Mayur Kadam for ₹30.20 lakhs. After missing out on the playoffs in the previous three seasons, the Warriorz have stepped up their game, building an exceptional squad.
Mayur will play alongside the star defender from Iran, Fazel Atrachali, in the PKL 2024 season. With Maninder Singh also joining the attack, they look like a strong outfit ahead of the start of the 11th season.
Hailing from Maharastra, the right-cover defender Mayur Kadam was part of the Patna Pirates set-up in the previous edition. It’s worth noting that he was also part of India’s gold medal-winning squad at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, China.
Mayur Kadam’s Pro Kabaddi journey
Mayur couldn’t find any bidder at the PKL 2023 Auction. However, as luck favors the brave, he replaced the Pirates skipper Neeraj Kumar, who got ruled out of the season due to an injury.
In his first game of the PKL 2023 season, he impressed everyone bagging six tackle points, guiding the side to victory. In total, he bagged 22 points from nine matches, including two High 5s.
He made his PKL debut with the Bengaluru Bulls in the 2021 season after being roped in by the south franchise for a price of ₹15 Lakhs. He played 19 matches that season, accumulating only 14 points with an average successful tackle of 0.74 each game.
He was subsequently retained by the Bulls for the PKL 2022 season for a price of ₹16.5 Lakhs. However, his performance wasn’t good, as he picked up only 16 tackle points from 17 matches at an average of 09.4 points each game.
Later for the PKL 2023 auction, he registered under the Domestic Players Category C and was signed by the Patna Pirates as a replacement for Neeraj Kumar, their skipper.
In his short PKL career, Mayur Kadam has played a total of 45 matches, accumulating 52 tackle points, including two High 5s and one Super Tackle.
