"After me, all other raiders started doing the Dubki in kabaddi" - Pardeep Narwal claims he invented move in PKL
Bengaluru Bulls captain Pardeep Narwal has opened up on how he invented the skill of 'dubki' in the Pro Kabaddi League. Narwal claimed that he started using this move before all the other raiders also began to use it on the mat.
In an appearance on The Unboxing Podcast, Bengaluru Bulls skipper Pardeep Narwal spoke about a range of topics. One of them was about 'dubki', which is a kabaddi skill he made popular.
Pardeep used this move early in his career, escaping through a gap between the chain of two defender just like someone diving in a swimming pool. When asked about how he learned this skill, Pardeep said:
"I myself invented the Dubki style in raiding. I believe I myself started Dubki in kabaddi. After me, all the other raiders started doing the Dubki in kabaddi."
Pardeep has executed so many dubkis in his Pro Kabaddi League career that fans often refer to him as the Dubki King of PKL. To date, the defenders struggle to keep him down when he pulls out the dubki.
"Only Maninder can do it" - Pardeep Narwal on which raider can break his record for most raid points in PKL history
Pardeep owns the number one spot in the list of raiders with the most raid points in Pro Kabaddi League history. In fact, he recently became the first raider to complete 1,700 raid points in the tournament.
When asked if anyone could break his record, Pardeep replied:
"Records are meant to be broken. Some day, a junior player might break my record. Among seniors, I think Maninder is behind me. Only Maninder can do it."
Pardeep Narwal thinks among his senior players, only Maninder Singh can overtake him on the all-time leaderboard. However, he also believes a junior player will rise and shatter his record at some point. It will be interesting to see if any raider can join Pardeep in the 1,700 raid points club soon.
