Ajay Thakur PKL 2024 Team: Is Ajay Thakur part of any team in Pro Kabaddi 2024?
Ajay Thakur, a veteran in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) history and for the Indian Kabaddi team, last played in the league in Season 8. The star raider returned to the league in Pro Kabaddi 2024 but in a completely different role.
Ajay is not a part of any PKL team in Season 11, neither as a player nor as a coach or mentor. However, he is still involved in the league, being a part of the broadcast team this time.
Disney Star, the official broadcaster of the tournament, announced the inclusion of star raider Ajay Thakur in its broadcast team for this season, where he is taking up commentary, offering all insights and analysis on the matches based on his vast experience.
"It's an absolute honor to join the expert panel for PKL Season 11. Kabaddi has been my passion since childhood, and being able to stay connected to the sport even after retirement feels like a true blessing. I'm deeply grateful to Disney Star for trusting me with this opportunity to be the voice of PKL this season. I look forward to sharing my insights and love for the game with the fans who have supported me throughout my journey," Ajay Thakur was quoted as saying by MyKhel.
Ajay Thakur's PKL career
Among the sport's greats, Ajay Thakur made his Pro Kabaddi League debut during the inaugural edition in 2014, playing for the Bengaluru Bulls. He spent another season with the Bulls before moving to Puneri Paltan in Season 3.
After two seasons with Paltan, Ajay switched to the Tamil Thalaivas in Season 5. He spent three seasons with the Thalaivas before making yet another move. He played for Dabang Delhi KC in Season 8, also his final season in the league.
He impressed with his raiding skills from Season 1, where he scored 122 raid points. He came to his own in Season 5, where he amassed 213 raid points. Ajay followed it up with another fine performance the next season, scoring 203 raid points.
Ajay Thakur played 121 games in his Pro Kabaddi career and scored 794 raid points with 23 Super Raids and 29 Super 10s, maintaining an average of 6.56 raid points per game.
