Bengaluru Bulls captain for PKL 2024: Who is the Bulls' captain for Pro Kabaddi 2024?
Bengaluru Bulls are one of the top-rated teams in the Pro Kabaddi league’s history. Under the captaincy of Rohit Kumar, the Bulls secured their maiden title in the PKL Season 6, with Pawan Sehrawat being named the Most Valuable Player.
However, in the 2024 season, the Bengaluru Bulls made a bold move by signing the legendary raider, Pardeep Narwal, popularly known as the "Dubki King." Taking over the captaincy from Saurabh Nandal, Pardeep has been leading the Bulls with high expectations.
However, PKL 11 has been a challenging journey so far, with the Bulls facing a rough patch, having lost three consecutive games to the Telugu Titans, Gujarat Giants and UP Yoddhas.
Despite the setbacks, the Bulls are determined to turn their season around. With Pardeep’s experience and skill at the helm, they’re poised to make a strong comeback in the upcoming matches and reassert their place among the league's best.
Can Pardeep Narwal replicate his success with Patna Pirates for Bengaluru Bulls?
Pardeep Narwal, known today as the "Dubki King," burst onto the Pro Kabaddi League scene in Season 2, debuting with the Bengaluru Bulls. He played six matches and earned only nine raid points. However, the following season, he joined the Patna Pirates, and the rest is history.
Under Manpreet Singh’s captaincy, Patna clinched their first-ever PKL title. Meanwhile, Pardeep’s fearless raiding not only earned him the title but also saw him finish the season as the top raider with 116 points.
Season 4 saw the Dubki King secure the second-highest raid points (131), but it was in Season 5 that he achieved legendary status while captaining the Pirates. Pardeep not only claimed the MVP title but also shattered records with 369 raid points, 18 super raids, and 19 super 10s — a masterclass in raiding.
After a stunning three-year championship streak, the next two seasons brought tougher times for Pardeep Narwal as the Pirates captain. Despite their struggle to reach the playoffs, Pardeep's individual brilliance continued to shine, as he ended those seasons second on the raid points leaderboard, racking up an impressive 233 and 302 raid points, respectively.
In PKL Season 8, Pardeep made a high-profile move to UP Yoddhas and was handed the captaincy the following season. His leadership took the Yoddhas to the PKL 9 Eliminator, which ended in a dramatic finish, with the Tamil Thalaivas advancing in the "Five Raids" tiebreaker after a nail-biting 36-36 draw.
However, last season proved challenging for Pardeep and the Yoddhas, who finished 11th on the points table, securing just four wins out of 22 matches.
