The 11th season of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) has been a stage for record-breaking performances, and Mohammadreza Shadloui has added his name to the list of history-makers.
Representing the Haryana Steelers, Shadloui achieved a significant milestone by becoming the fastest defender to reach 300 tackle points in PKL history, surpassing the legendary Fazel Atrachali.
Known for his remarkable consistency since his debut in Season 8, Mohammadreza Shadloui continues to establish himself as one of the finest defenders in the league.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, Shadloui expressed pride in breaking this record, acknowledging Fazel Atrachali’s greatness while asserting his own abilities.
However, the Iranian star made it clear that personal records are not his primary focus. His commitment to team success shines through, making him an invaluable asset for the Haryana Steelers in their quest for the PKL title.
"It is a matter of pride for me. Fazel Atrachali is a great defender and I have broken his record. However, I have always said that I am a better defender," Mohammadreza Shadloui said, reflecting on his historic achievement.
Since his debut in Season 8, Shadloui has been a defensive powerhouse, earning the title of the league's best defender twice in three seasons. Last season, he narrowly missed reaching 100 tackle points, ending with an impressive 99 points.
Despite his incredible feats, the star defender remains grounded, emphasizing that records hold little value compared to his contribution to the team.
"I came close to this record in the last season of Pro Kabaddi League, but I don't think much about it. Even in the final, if I had taken a risk, I could have done that feat. I have always said that I only play for the team, records are just for numbers. It doesn't matter to me. This season too, my focus is not on 100 tackle points," he said.

Having played for Patna Pirates and Puneri Paltan in the past, Mohammadreza Shadloui's journey in PKL has seen him adapt to different teams seamlessly.

"This is my job. I have no problem playing for different teams. My job is to perform well and I give my best for everyone. I have found new friends in Haryana Steelers. Our team is very good and we are having fun. We are all playing for the trophy. We have to play the final and win it and become champions," Shadloui added.
