Pawan Sehrawat PKL 2023 team: Which team was the Hi-Flyer a part of in Pro Kabaddi 10?

Pawan Sehrawat, one of the Pro Kabaddi League’s most coveted players, encountered a challenging season in 2023. Known for his exceptional raiding skills and high value, Sehrawat had previously set records with his performance.

The Telugu Titans, determined to rope in the star player, bought him for an unprecedented Rs. 2.61 crore in the Season 10 auction, making him the most expensive player in PKL history. However, despite this significant investment, the 2023 season did not unfold as planned for Sehrawat and his team.

During the 2023 season, Pawan Sehrawat played a total of 21 matches for the Telugu Titans. He managed to score 217 points, including 202 raid points. His average of 9.62 raid points per game was noteworthy, but his overall performance was hindered by a successful raid percentage of just 39%.

This figure indicated a drop in his efficiency compared to previous seasons, where he had been a dominant force. Sehrawat’s campaign included 13 Super 10s and five Super Raids, showcasing his capability to deliver impressive individual performances despite the team’s struggles.

The Telugu Titans, with Sehrawat leading their charge, had an exceptionally poor season. They won only two out of their 22 matches, ending at the bottom of the league table with a mere 21 points. This dismal performance was a significant letdown, as the team had hoped that Sehrawat’s presence would boost their prospects. Unfortunately, the combination of Sehrawat’s underperformance and the team’s overall struggles led to a season that failed to meet their expectations.

He was released by the Telugu Titans ahead of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 11 auction.

Pawan Sehrawat back to Telugu Titans for Pro Kabaddi 2024 season

As the Pro Kabaddi League is back for the 2024 season, Pawan Sehrawat’s market value saw a noticeable shift. On Day 1 of the PKL 2024 auction, he was retained by the Telugu Titans for Rs 1.725 crore.

This retention came after a slow bidding process, reflecting a change in market dynamics and possibly some reservations about his recent form. Other teams, such as U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls, were also in contention, engaging in a bidding battle for Sehrawat's services. Ultimately, it was his former team, the Telugu Titans, who used their FBM (Final Bid Match) card to bring him back into their side.

Pawan Sehrawat’s 2023 season with the Telugu Titans was one with both individual and team challenges. Despite his impressive stats, including 202 raid points and 13 Super 10s, the Titans' poor performance and Sehrawat’s lower efficiency contributed to a disappointing campaign.

As he prepares for the upcoming season, both Sehrawat and the Telugu Titans will be looking to bounce back and put up a better showing this time around.
