Telugu Titans would be aiming to reverse their fortunes after settling for the wooden spoon in the previous three editions. In the 10th season, the Titans failed badly in both raiding and defense departments and finished in the bottom position in the standings with a mere two victories.
Having released their skipper Pawan Sehrawat and their best defender Sandeep Dhull ahead of the PKL 2024 Auction, it would be interesting to watch who will be their top picks in both raiding and defense units.
Interestingly, Telugu Titans' best seasons came in the second and fourth editions when they qualified for the playoffs. Unfortunately, since then, they have been occupying the bottom half of the table, which is a concerning factor moving into the 11th season’s auction.
A total of 88 players have been retained in three categories (elite retained players, retained young players, and existing new young players) ahead of the exciting auction.
The franchise has retained Shankar Gadai and Ajit Pawar in the Elite Players category while they haven’t retained anyone in the young players section. In the existing new young players, they have retained Ankit, Omkar Patil, Praful Zaware, and Sanjeevi S.
The thinktank made some surprising decisions by releasing their best raider Pawan Sehrawat and best defender Sandeep Dhull. However, with the FBM option available, we can expect the franchise to use on these two players or look for some new options available.
In the 10th season, Pawan Sehrawat was the team's best raider, accumulating 157 successful raids in 21 matches while the left corner defender Sandeep Dhull bagged 36 successful tackles.
At the PKL 2024 Auction, a total of 500+ players including the 24 players from the two final teams of the Khelo India University Games 2024 will go under the hammer.
