Pro Kabaddi 2024: Telugu Titans name Pawan Sehrawat as captain for PKL 11, Vijay Malik appointed vice-captain

Telugu Titans have retained Pawan Sehrawat as their captain for the upcoming Pro Kabaddi League season. After a disappointing season as skipper in PKL 10, Pawan will aim to do a better job for the Titans in the 11th edition of the league.

Joining him in the leadership group this time is all-rounder Vijay Malik, who moved from UP Yoddhas to Telugu Titans ahead of PKL 11. The Titans signed him for ₹20 lakh at the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction.

Pawan Sehrawat has done a fine job as India's captain at the international level, but he had a forgettable season as the Telugu Titans skipper in PKL 2023/24. The Titans finished last in the points table with only two victories from 22 matches.

Despite finishing 12th in PKL 10, the Titans have continued to show faith in Pawan's skills as they made the following announcement on X today.

Instead of using a traditional edit to announce the captain and vice-captain, the Titans created a short film featuring CEO Trinadh Reddy along with Team Manager Merwan and Physio Arjun Puranik to reveal the skipper and his deputy.

Can Pawan Sehrawat help Telugu Titans win Pro Kabaddi 2024?

Telugu Titans have been a part of all the Pro Kabaddi League seasons played so far. They have been home to some big names as well, but the trophy has, so far, eluded from the Telugu franchise. In fact, they have never even made it to the final and have managed just five wins in their last 66 Pro Kabaddi matches.

It will be interesting to see if Pawan Sehrawat can help change the Titans' fortunes in PKL 2024. The team has got a top-quality defender in Krishan Dhull this time, whose aim is to help the Titans win all the matches in PKL 11 and guide the side to the trophy.
