Puneri Paltan skipper Aslam Inamdar ruled out of Pro Kabaddi 2024
Defending champions Puneri Paltan captain Aslam Indamdar has been ruled out of the remainder of the Pro Kabaddi 2024, the club announced on Monday (November 11).
Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 champions took to X (formerly Twitter) to make the announcement.
"Our captain Aslam Inamdar has been ruled out of Pro Kabaddi Season 11 due to an unforeseen knee injury. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him return stronger to lead our lions soon," the post read.
Aslam Inamdar has been a vital cog for Puneri Paltan as he led the side to their maiden title last season and also won the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
The 24-year-old picked up an injury during a raid in Puneri Paltan's previous outing against the Telugu Titans on November 9 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. He was seen limping on the mat for the rest of the game.
Puneri Paltan lost the match 33-34 to the Titans in a close-fought encounter. Telugu Titans captain Pawan Sehrawat and all-rounder Vijay Malik were the top performers with 12 and 13 points, respectively.
Pankaj Mohite was the best performer for the defending champions with nine points. V. Ajith (six points) and Mohit Goyat (five points) also contributed to the nail-biting clash on Saturday.
Aslam has scored 38 points from seven matches in the 11th edition of the Pro Kabaddi League. The Indian all-rounder has earned 31 raid points from 82 raids and seven tackle points from a total of 17 tackles in the tournament.
Puneri Paltan to face Dabang Delhi K.C. in upcoming PKL 2024 clash
Puneri Paltan will face Dabang Delhi K.C. in their next Pro Kabaddi 2024 match on Tuesday (November 12) at the Noida Indoor Stadium in Noida.
The Pune-based franchise are currently placed first with 30 points, while Delhi are fifth with 24 points.
