Who is Arjun Rathi? All you need to know about Bengal Warriorz's latest recruit for Pro Kabaddi League 2024

Young and upcoming raider hailing from Uttarakhand, Arjun Rathi is all set to be a part of the Bengal Warriorz set-up at the Pro Kabaddi League 2024 season. He was signed for a whopping price of INR 41 lakh while his base price was set at INR 9 lakh.

Part of Category D, the 22-year-old received bids from Jaipur Pink Panthers and Bengal Warriorz as both franchises created an intense bidding war. Bengal Warriorz was successful with the final bid of INR 41 lakh to acquire his services for the 11th edition.

Arjun Rathi’s kabaddi journey

Arjun Rathi rose to prominence after he was drafted by the Yuva Kabaddi Series franchise Tadoba Tigers in the Monsoon Edition in 2022. He played nine matches, accumulating 158 points with 17.55 average points per match.

Unfortunately, the Tadoba Tigers suffered losses in all nine matches of the campaign to bow out of the competition from the survival round. Nevertheless, Arjun's heroics at an 80.20 percent raid strike rate caught attention in that edition.

Best season with Chola Veerans

Subsequently for the Winter Edition in 2022, he was drafted by Chola Veerans, accumulating 223 points from 23 matches at average points of 9.69 per match. However, his heroics couldn't help the Veerans make the cut for the final.

Later, he was retained by Chola Veerans for the Monsoon Edition in 2023. He amassed 197 points from 18 games at 10.94 points per match. He had a raid strike rate of 75.28 percent with six super raids and 11 super 10s.

Unfortunately, Veerans bowed out of the Monsoon Edition 2023 competition after losing to Murthal Magnets by 33-65 in the Eliminator.

In the Winter Edition in 2023, he was roped in by Himalayan Tahrs. Though he was part of only three games, he accumulated 17 points with one Super 10. Tahrs got eliminated from the booster round after a series of poor performances in the campaign.

Arjun Rathi will be one of the backup raiders for the Bengal Warriorz. With Maninder Singh leading the attack, it would be a great learning curve for Arjun on his Pro Kabaddi League debut.
