Patna Pirates’ Girish Ernak eager to return to his hometown Mumbai as a semi-finalist
Patna Pirates face Jaipur Pink Panthers in all important clash in the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League on Wednesday, 19th August 2015, which will determine who will join U Mumba, Telugu Titans and Bengaluru Bulls in the semi-finals in Mumbai.
Hailing from the city which is set to host the semi-final and the final, the player manning the left corner for Patna Pirates, Girish Ernak, is eager to return to him hometown as a semi-finalist with Patna Pirates.
Speaking to Sportskeeda after the game against the Puneri Paltan, Girish expressed his desire to take the Patna Pirates to the semi-final. “We have been playing for the last few months, so I am eager to go back to my hometown which is Mumbai, but as a semi-finalist with Patna Pirates. We have worked very hard so far and want to achieve our target of making it to the semi-finals,” said a determined Girish Ernak.
When asked as to whom his side needs to be the most wary of from the Pink Panther’s side, Girish refused to single out any one player. “No player is big or small. All are equal and each one of them can put in a match winning performance. So we need to give everyone respect and not take anything for granted,” added Girish Ernak.
Speaking about his coach’s role in preparing them for these big games, Girish stated his coach didn’t put a lot of pressure on them and gave them the freedom to play their natural game. “The coach has just asked us to play our natural game and not bother about the result much. I’m sure if we play to the best of our abilities, we will win and qualify,” said a confident Girish Ernak.
The defender stressed on the importance of the performances of the defenses and felt that is where the game will be won and lost. “It is important that our defence plays well as I feel the team which defends better on the day will end up winning the game,” Girish proclaimed.
It is certain that Girish will return to Mumbai after this game, but it is important to see whether he goes there as semi-finalists or not. Either ways, Girish must be proud the way he and his team have performed this season.
The match between Jaipur Pink Panthers and Patna Pirates will begin at 8 pm.
