As the electrifying action of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi Season 4 moves into its first weekday at the DOME@NSCI SVP Stadium in Mumbai, it has already grasped the fancy of viewers across the world by scoring big on the TRP charts. It was more than evident on Saturday evening when fans poured in from all corners to the Mumbai stadium to witness the inaugural encounter between Puneri Paltan and Telugu Titans that set in motion the second occurrence of the championship this year. Puneri Paltan are leading the Pro Kabaddi 2016 Season 4 Points Table with 10 points in hand.
Attended by India’s favourite sporting son Virat Kohli and funnyman Kapil Sharma, the opening ceremony was a vibrant affair with all captains and coaches from their respective franchises joining hands to sing the national anthem while the trophy stood before them in all its glory. Bollywood names Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor featuring in the stands also added to the grandeur that this exciting tourney has showcased on every occasion.

From the very first game, the spectators have been able to experience the thrill of the riveting scenes of Kabaddi that has been missing from their daily rosters in the interim period. With the new format in place, no host city will be deprived of the opportunity to be present in the thick of the live clashes throughout the tournament.
For the 14 league matches to be played for each franchise, the focus will shift from one home turf to another in the course of the next five weeks. The ongoing fixtures are raging in the hip city of Mumbai after which Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur will be the players’ address for seven further games. In a similar manner, the whole brigade will tour the cities of Hyderabad, Patna, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Delhi to wow the galleries at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Patliputra Sports Complex, Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Indoor Stadium and Thyagaraj Sports Complex respectively.
As far as the in-game proceedings are concerned, the Puneri Paltan have been emphatic in the early stages of the 4th edition of Pro Kabaddi League. After a narrow 28-24 victory over the Telugu Titans in the tournament opener, the Paltan pronounced their command over the present scene with a resounding 41-19 rout of U Mumba on Sunday. The enormity of their latest result gets highlighted when one recalls how U Mumba have been the most consistent of the lot across all the three previous editions of the PKL.
However, U Mumba managed to start their season 4 campaign with a 36-34 win over Jaipur Pink Panthers on Saturday. Coming to the rest of the teams, Bengaluru Bulls edged past Bengal Warriors in a Sunday evening thriller that finished 24-23 in favour of the Karnataka team.
Yet to take the stage are Dabang Delhi and the defending champions Patna Pirates. Both these sides will begin Season 4 on Monday evening, to start off a schedule that promises to entertain every section of sports lovers in the country.
