Pro Kabaddi 2016 Season 4: Intense training prepares us for such situations, says Patna Pirates captain after 4th straight win
Another match and another win for Patna Pirates in Pro Kabaddi 2016 Season 4. Irrespective of the opponents, the Pirates continue with their good show in season 4 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi. The team brushed aside Bengaluru Bulls in their first home fixture to remain undefeated in the tournament and now have 20 points from their 4 games. The two teams ahead of the Pirates, Puneri Paltan and Jaipur Pink Panthers, too have the equal amount of points as Patna but have played 2 matches more than the men in yellow and green.
The team owned by Rajesh V Shah seemed to have started from where they left in the last season and despite some different names in their ranks from the last season, the team hasn’t looked least deterred in their quest to defend the title. While Pardeep Narwal has been the stand out performer, the rest of the team too deserves to be credited for supporting him well.
Captain Dharamaraj Chelarathan, who was brought ahead of this season and handed leadership duties of the defending champions, has impressed as well. He has marshalled his resources well and has given the most of the players in the squad a chance to e on the mat. Talking to the media, Chelarathan was at his composed best when he gave simplest possible explanations to the team’s unbeaten run in this season.
He said, “We have a good team. The coach and management are good as well. The intense training prepared us for this and hence, even with the squad changing with every time, we manage to win.”
Team’s raider Rajesh Mondal oozed confidence and seemed optimistic about his team’s chances of defending the title. He asserted, “We have won all the matches till now, and hope to win the coming ones too. The team we played with is also a good one. Hopefully, we will continue to play like this as we aim at being the champions like the previous season.“
Patna has a great chance to make it 6 in 6 and reach within sniffing distance of a semi final berth. But Patna Pirates are guarding against complacence and don’t seem to want to take any team lightly. Mondal said, “All the teams are good, and about the tough match, all I can say is that it can only be said with time that which match will be tough. All the coming matches are tough is all I can say.
The much awaited clash remains between Jaipur Pink Panthers and Patna Pirates, which will also be the home team’s last home fixture. If Patna can overcome Pink Panthers, they can well and truly be labelled as the best team on show this season.
