On the third night of the Mumbai leg of VIVO Pro Kabaddi League 2019, the fans got a chance to witness two contrasting encounters. In the first match of the night, Tamil Thalaivas suffered another one-point defeat with Patna Pirates being their conquerors this time while in the succeeding match, the Bengal Warriors bulldozed past Puneri Paltan.

Speaking of the game between Chennai and Patna first, the raiders of the both the teams were expected to come out all guns blazing tonight. However, the defenders took control as they did not allow the likes of Pardeep Narwal, Rahul Chaudhari, Ajay Thakur, Jang Kun Lee and Shabeer Bappu to score easy points.

The fact that corner defender Jaideep emerged as the top point-scorer of this match solidifies the aforementioned statement. Patna Pirates' all-rounder, Monu shone for his team as he chipped in with crucial points in both the departments. In the closing moments of the game, Tamil Thalaivas' star raider, Rahul Chaudhari committed an unforced error which tilted the result in Patna's favor.

The Record Breaker, Pardeep Narwal, could score only one point in this match whilst The Iceman, Ajay Thakur, finished with three raid points to his name.

In the second match of the night, Puneri Paltan were on the brink of receiving an early all out. However, a fantastic super tackle turned the game back in their favor.

Pune pulled off one more super tackle in the next few minutes but, the TV umpire had ruled that decision in Bengal's favor because of an alleged jersey pull.

This decision gave a three-point lead to Bengal Warriors and the Kolkata-based franchise never allowed the Paltans to get back in this match.

The duo of Maninder Singh and Mohammad Nabibakhsh joined forces to score 22 points. In the defense department, Rinku Narwal registered a High 5. He got good support from Jeeva Kumar, Baldev Singh and Viraj Vishnu Landge.

Substitute raider, Pankaj Mohite was the sole bright spot for Puneri Paltan in this lop-sided match. Mohite's 6 raid points helped Pune reduce the losing margin to 20 points.
