Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction: 3 players Gujarat Giants should target ft. Mohammadreza Shadloui
The Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction will begin in a few hours. All eyes will be on two-time finalists Gujarat Giants at the two-day event because they have the highest purse value remaining ahead of the auction.
The Giants have more than ₹4 crore available to spend over the next two days in Mumbai. Head coach Ram Mehar Singh has retained his main raiders Parteek Dahiya and Rakesh HS ahead of the auction. Even left cover Balaji D will continue playing for the Giants.
However, the team has let go of its top match-winners from Season 10 - raider Sonu Jaglan and captain Fazel Atrachali. Even star Iranian all-rounder Mohammad Nabibakhsh has been released by the Ahmedabad-based franchise. Hence, the team will have to do a lot of shopping, and here are three players the Giants should target at the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction.
#1 Gujarat Giants will likely chase Mohammadreza Shadloui at the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction
The left corner position is vacant in the Gujarat Giants after Fazel Atrachali's release. While the Giants can use the FBM card to re-sign Fazel, they might consider roping in his compatriot Mohammadreza Shadloui, who won the Best Defender award last season.
Shadloui scored 99 tackle points for Puneri Paltan and helped the team win their first PKL championship. Apart from his phenomenal performance in the defense, Shadloui also made his presence felt in the raiding unit, chipping in with important points whenever needed.
Puneri Paltan captain Aslam Inamdar exclusively told Sportskeeda that Shadloui could emerge as the highest-paid player of PKL 11. Since the Giants have ₹4.08 crore available in their auction purse, they may go all out for the Iranian star and recruit him for the upcoming season.
#2 Rahul Chaudhari
Gujarat Giants already have two gun raiders in Rakesh HS and Parteek Dahiya. Coach Ram Mehar Singh should now look to sign an experienced raider, who can provide stability to the team's raiding unit.
When Jaipur Pink Panthers won the Pro Kabaddi League in Season 9, veteran raider Rahul Chaudhari played a massive role in the team's success by playing the perfect support raider to Arjun Deshwal. Perhaps, the Gujarat Giants can sign Rahul and use him in a similar way.
Rahul also brings a lot of brand value to the team. Plus, he has confirmed that PKL 11 will be his last. Hence, the Giants can gain the fans' attention if they sign Rahul and give him the platform to showcase his skills one last time.
#3 Gurdeep Sangwan
All-rounder Gurdeep Sangwan has a ton of experience of playing as a left cover defender. He was a part of the UP Yoddhas last season, but this time, he is in the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction pool.
Sangwan has earned 87 points in 60 matches, registering three High 5s. He has proven himself as a super tackle specialist by executing eight super tackles in his career. Since Gujarat need a left cover defender, they should bid for Gurdeep and try to secure his services at the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction.
