Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction: How many FBM cards does each team have in PKL?
Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction will start on Thursday (August 15) evening in Mumbai. Like the last few PKL auctions, this year's auction will also have the FBM (Final Bid Match) card option.
The FBM card allows a team to sign the player released by them before the auction at his final selling price. For example, Bengal Warriors released Maninder Singh before the auction. If the Patna Pirates sign him for ₹2 crore, then the auctioneer will ask Bengal if they wish to use the FBM card. If Bengal say yes, Maninder will return to the Warriors for ₹2 crore.
Many teams have used the FBM option intelligently in the past. However, there's a limit on the number of FBM cards a team can use, and that depends on the number of elite retained players by each franchise.
If a team retains six players in the elite category, they get only one FBM, while if they retain five, they receive two FBM cards. In case the number of elite retained players are less than five, three FBM cards are available.
Interestingly, all 12 teams have retained less than five players in the elite category ahead of the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction. Thus, all 12 teams have three FBM cards each for the Pro Kabaddi 2024 Auction.
