Pro Kabaddi 2024: List of all PKL winners from Season 1 to 10
The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2024 kickstarted on October 18 at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. So far, the defending champions Puneri Paltan are the table-toppers with four wins in three games.
Meanwhile, teams like UP Yoddhas, Tamil Thalaivas and Jaipur Pink Panthers take subsequent positions with two wins in three appearances. The Bengaluru Bulls are placed last with no wins in four games.
Over the years, many sides have successfully secured title victories, with Patna Pirates achieving the feat thrice. On the other hand, the likes of Telugu Titans, Tamil Thalaivas, and Haryana Steelers have failed to win the silverware.
On that note, let's look at all PKL winners from seasons 1 to 10.
Season 1 - Jaipur Pink Panthers (2014)
The inaugural season saw the Jaipur-based side secure 10 victories in 14 league games to qualify for the playoffs. Under the leadership of Navneet Gautam, the Panthers went on to win 38-18 against Patna Pirates in the semi-final.
In the final, they beat U Mumba 35-24 to clinch the title victory. Maninder Singh (130) scored the most raid points for the franchise, while Rohit Rana (38) bagged the most tackle points.
Season 2 - U Mumba (2015)
This edition saw the Anup Kumar-led U Mumba finish first in the league stage with 12 victories in 14 appearances. In the semi-final, they prevailed 35-18 over the Patna Pirates.
The final clash saw U Mumba secure a 36-30 victory against Bengaluru Bulls. Skipper Anup scored the most raid points (74) and Mohit Chillar recorded the most tackle points (42) for the side.
Season 3 - Patna Pirates (January 2016)
Patna Pirates were placed second after the culmination of the league stage with 10 wins in 14 games. In the semi-finals, they secured a dominating 40-21 victory over Puneri Paltan.
The final clash saw the Pirates secure a 31-28 victory over U Mumba to win their maiden title. Pirates' Pardeep Narwal scored the most raid points (116) and made his name in the Kabaddi circuit.
Season 4 - Patna Pirates (June 2016)
Pirates became the first team to win two titles in the PKL 2017 edition. Pardeep Narwal continued his strong showing by registering the most raid points (131) for the Patna Pirates. Led by Dharmaraj Cheralathan, the Pirates finished first in the group stage with 10 wins in 14 games.
Then, they secured a close 37-33 victory over the Puneri Paltan side in the semi-final. In the final, they beat Jaipur Pink Panthers with a scoreline of 37-29.
Season 5 - Patna Pirates (2017)
The Pardeep Narwal-led Pirates were crowned the PKL champions for the third time in the 2017 edition. After winning 15 out of 22 games, they were placed second in their respective group.
In the semi-finals, Pirates secured a 69-30 victory over the Haryana Steelers. In the finale, Pirates beat Puneri Paltan with a scoreline of 42-32.
Season 6 - Bengaluru Bulls (2018)
After winning 13 out of 22 league games, Bengaluru Bulls finished at the top of their group. In the semi-final, the Rohit Kumar-led side successfully overcame the challenge of Gujarat Fortune Giants by securing a 41-29 victory.
The final encounter saw them beating the Giants again with a scoreline of 38-33 to win the title. This season saw the birth of superstar, Pawan Sehrawat, who returned with mammoth 271 raid points.
Season 7 - Bengal Warriors (2019)
The Maninder Singh-led Bengal Warriors secured their maiden title victory in this season. They had 14 victories in 22 league-stage games to enter the playoffs. In the semi-finals, they held their nerves to claim a 37-35 win over U Mumba.
The final game saw the Warriors beat Dabang Delhi K.C. 39-34. Although Maninder didn't play the final game, he was the team's best raider with 205 points.
Season 8 - Dabang Delhi K.C. (2021)
The 2021 edition saw Dabang Delhi K.C. register a thrilling 37-36 victory over the Patna Pirates in the final. It was the closest margin of a win in a PKL championship game.
The franchise's finest performer was Naveen Kumar, who scored 207 raid points to become the Most Valuable Player (MVP) two times in a row.
Season 9 - Jaipur Pink Panthers (2022)
The 2022 edition saw the Jaipur-based franchise lift their second PKL title. After winning 15 out of 22 games, the Panthers qualified for the playoffs.
They registered a dominating 49-29 victory over the Bengaluru Bulls in the semi-final. In the final, Panthers were met with a tough challenge against Puneri Paltan, but the side managed to secure a 33-29 victory to claim the title.
Panthers' players Arjun Deshwal and Ankush scored the most raid points (296) and the most tackle points (89), respectively.
Season 10 - Puneri Paltan (2023)
Led by Aslam Inamdar, Puneri Paltan went on to finish as the table-toppers with 17 wins in 22 games in the 2023 season. In the semi-final, they secured a 37-21 victory over the Patna Pirates.
The final encounter was a tough game, with the Paltan emerging victorious with a scoreline of 28-25 against the Haryana Steelers.
Inamdar was the MVP of the season with 142 raid points and 26 tackle points. Meanwhile, Paltan's Mohammadreza Chiyaneh scored the most tackle points (99).
