Patna Pirates and U Mumba will square off in the Eliminator 2 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) 2024 on Thursday, December 26, at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi, in Pune.
Patna Pirates qualified for the Eliminator, finishing fourth on the points table with 13 wins and seven losses. They are coming off their second tie against Gujarat Giants, 40-40.
Meanwhile, the Sunil Kumar-led U Mumba finished fifth with 12 wins, eight losses, and two ties. Their playoff spot was sealed with a 36-27 victory over the Bengal Warriorz. After finishing 10th last season and missing the playoffs, U Mumba have returned to the knockout stages after three years, aiming to claim their second PKL title.

Ajit completed his Super 10 early in the second half and inflicted another All Out, while Sunil Kumar secured a High 5. Despite Patna's efforts, including Devank’s Super 10 and Sudhakar M’s resistance, U Mumba's defense, led by Sunil, Lokesh, and Rinku, ensured victory.
Ajit finished with 15 points, while Devank’s 12-point effort and Ayan’s seven for Patna came too late, as U Mumba sealed the win emphatically.
