In a major boost to the Bengal Warriors outfit, sources have confirmed that star raider Deepak Narwal is fit and raring to go ahead of the crucial Pro Kabaddi encounter against the high-flying Patna Pirates on Sunday after a long injury layoff. Official sources in the team's management have confirmed to Sportskeeda that he has recovered and will take to the mat against the Pirates.

Deepak did his knee in while raiding against the Bengaluru Bulls during match no.49 at the Dome NSCI Stadium in Mumbai and since that game, Deepak has warmed the benches en route to his recovery.

Deepak picked up the injury during a raid that he went into after an all-important two-point raid which stopped the Warriors charge for a short while before Maninder Singh, Jang Kun Lee and Virender, who came in as Deepak's substitute ensured that the Warriors did not fall behind and registered an important 32-36 victory.

This season, Deepak has played second fiddle to the likes of Maninder Singh and Jang Kun Lee, both of whom have managed to score points at a fast pace but has had a huge impact on the Warrior's results with 39 points from his eight matches so far.

Quick on the turn and agile with his hand touches, Deepak has managed to take up the do-or-die duties and has taken the Warriors out of troubled waters quite often. Not only has he scored through touch points, his knack of picking up bonus points has come to the fray and kept his confidence high during the games.

The Bengal Warriors have done exceedingly well this season to rise to the top of the table in Zone 'B' and Deepak's addition to the starting seven will certainly infuse extra energy to the line-up. They have a tough task ahead of them in today's match and will look to secure the five points against the Pirates and extend their lead at the top of the table.
