Pro Kabaddi League 2017 Season 5: Bengaluru Bulls match in jeopardy due to heavy rains in Mumbai

Tuesday's first Pro Kabaddi League encounter between Bengaluru Bulls and U.P Yoddha seems to be in jeopardy. According to sources, Sportskeeda can confirm that the team is still stuck in traffic due to heavy and incessant rains and few kilometers away from the venue.

On Tuesday, Mumbai city received over 200 mm of rainfall in 6 parts of the city. So intense and heavy has been the downpour that the Navy has dispatched two rescue teams and two diving teams to different parts of the city.

With the match slated to begin at 8 pm, it remains to be seen if the Bulls can make it in time for the match. With just 3 wins in 10 matches, Bengaluru are desperate for a win to keep their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive.

It's highly unlikely that the match will begin on time. Even if it does, the Bulls wouldn't be match ready given the fact that they will not have time to warm up before their crunch encounter against UP Yoddha.

Not since 2005 has the city of Mumbai seen such a bout of rainfall. So much so that even Prime Minister, Narendra Modi took to twitter to express his concern about the situation that doesn't seem to get any better.

One can't help but wonder why the organizers did not postpone today's matches given the unprecedented situation on the ground.

Motivation is also a matter of huge concern. Not many spectators are expected to come for Tuesday's games and understandably so. Given the empty stands, one wonders how could the players possibly play at an optimum level given the gloomy atmosphere.

The Yodhha's sit pretty at the top of the table having played 11 matches so far. It's safe to say they will start the match as favorites.
