Pro Kabaddi League 2017 Season 5: Dates for washed out Mumbai leg matches revealed
The Pro Kabaddi League saw a unique first last month on August 29 as for the very first time in the competition's history, two matches had to be postponed as torrential rains lashed the city of Mumbai. The Gujarat Fortunegiants were scheduled to take on U Mumba and the Bengaluru Bulls faced off against the UP Yoddha but the games had to be rescheduled as the teams were unable to reach the venue in time, with their vehicles stuck in traffic.
There was a high degree of uncertainty about what the fate of the two matches would be and how they will fit into the schedule, given the fact that there are nearly two matches every day and shift to a new city every week. However, it has now become clear when and where these matches will be held.
Sources close to the league have confirmed to Sportskeeda have confirmed that the Zone A encounter between the Fortunegiants and U Mumba will be held in Ranchi on September 20, alongside the Patna Pirates vs Tamil Thalaivas clash. On the other hand, the clash between the Bengaluru Bulls and the UP Yoddha will take place as late as October 17 in Pune, with the Puneri Paltan taking on the Haryana Steelers that day.
Each leg in the PKL lasts seven days from Friday to Thursday, consisting of 11 matches split into five days of two matches each, one day with one match and one rest day on each Monday.
The Zone A match has been scheduled on the one-match day in the home leg of the Patna Pirates, who play in Zone B and vice versa, the Zone B match has been added to the one-match day of the Puneri Paltan home leg, who are a Zone A side.
