Pro Kabaddi League 2017 Season 5: Five talking points from Day 49 of PKL 5
We got to see a tight, tense finish on the first night of the Delhi leg of the Pro Kabaddi Season 5. Some late heroics saw U Mumba snatch victory in this one over Dabang Delhi, winning 30-28 after a titanic tussle throughout the match.
Here's what stood out on opening night in Delhi.
#1 Shabeer returns to the fold
There are few raiders that are an absolute delight to watch more than Shabeer Bapu. The man almost has this cerebral, cool aura around him when he goes to work against opposition defences that makes him a rather silent, but dangerous raider.
Injuries though have been a thorn in his flesh that have kept him off the mat for long stretches in past seasons and for a while it looked like they might have scuppered his season yet again this year. So, his return to U Mumba's starting unit tonight was noteworthy as he took to the court for the first time in weeks.
He only took up four raids, three of which were empty raids, and scored just the solo point, but it was still nice to see him back. Hopefully, he can stay fit the rest of the season.
