Pro Kabaddi: Patna Pirates manager believes God has something special in store for them
Having made their way to the semi-finals of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi after getting the better of the Jaipur Pink Panthers, the Pirates from Patna ready themselves for the challenge of league stage winners U Mumba in the semi-final today.
Speaking to Sportskeeda, ahead of the crucial semi-final, the Patna Pirates team manager cum coach was in a relaxed mood and felt it is anybody’s game from here on. Feeling glad to be part of the semi-finals, he wants his team to play a really good game in the semi-final and enjoy the occasion.
“We are glad we made it here. When it comes to the game against U Mumba, we want to play well and make it a really good game. We aren’t thinking about the result as I feel it’s anybody’s game from here on, so we will go out there and enjoy the game,” said Kartik Sansanwal.
The Patna Pirates very recently lost out to their opponents today by a very narrow margin and that makes his side believe that they are a match for U Mumba, according to Kartik. “We had a really close game against them (U Mumba) which we lost, but that shows we both are very evenly matched and I’m sure we will produce another thriller tomorrow,” he said.
Patna have never beaten Mumbai
Kartik revealed that his team had given up after their defeat to U Mumba in n and felt they had blown away their chances. But he feels that God has something special in store for them, the way things went for the Pirates since then.
“We had lost all hopes after we lost to U Mumba in Bengaluru. But things worked out our way and we made sure we did our bit and now we are in the semi-finals. I believe the way things went for us, that God has something special for us and we will work hard to achieve that,” added the Patna Pirates manager.
The odds are stacked heavily against the Pirates with U Mumba having lost only once on their home turf – the final of season 1 vs the Pink Panthers. The Pirates, too, have never beaten the Mumbai outfit in four attempts having lost three and drawn one back in season 1. So we will have to wait and see if something actually is written in the stars for the Pirates or will they be yet another team to succumb to U Mumba in Mumbai, only time will tell.
