Pro Kabaddi League: Bachchan’s Pink Panthers beat Dabang Delhi to continue their ascent
5th August 2014, New Delhi: The Thyagraj Indoor stadium hoped that their home team’s fortunes would change, however voracious crowd support and a busy dugout unfortunately did not help the Red and Blue’s cause who ended their evening at home with a nine point defeat against Bachchan’s Pink Panthers, 31-40.
The game started off hot, with Jaipur’s Jasvir Singh scoring 4 points in the first 4 minutes of the game and Delhi’s Amit Singh responding with a Do Or Die raid coming within inches of redemption but was held down by Jaipur’s Pink Panthers. Kashiling Adake followed Amit’s lead into the opposition half but is brought down by the strong defense of Jaipur to close scores in the second half 11-21 in favor of the Panthers.
The second-half started with Delhi sending in their captain Jasmir Singh in an attempt at making amends, while he earns a single point in his raid, his success provides morale boost that Delhi was looking for. The crowd continues to be the best cheerleaders for Delhi edging on Kashiling through successive raids, and closing the lead between the two teams to a mere 5 points, with scores at the end of twenty-seven minutes 16-22 in favor of the Panthers.
The Panthers kept extending their lead with Delhi close on their heals, ending their night with a nine point victory and third in the league standings, with a strong chance at play-off’s.
Pink Panther Jasvir Singh with 8 raid points was adjudged Best Raider, while teammate Ran Singh was awarded Best Defender.
