1st March 2019: Puneri Paltan, the Pune team of Vivo Pro Kabaddi League has a new identity which is inspired by the fans.

Puneri Paltan revealed their new logo on Friday, 1st March 2019, on their social media handles. The new Puneri Paltan logo is designed after taking inputs from the fans on how they perceive the brand and the team.

Commenting on the occasion, Kailash Kandpal, CEO, Puneri Paltan said,

“Puneri Paltan has developed a new identity which resembles with the modern and dynamic Pune, yet is true to our roots. We are an evolving team with the exuberance of the youth which respects and holds close to our hearts the values of our rich culture.”

The new identity is an ode to Maharashtra’s rich culture. The logo takes inspiration from the Rajmudra – symbol of Swarajya, which represents the glory of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who vowed for the well-being of his people.

The emblem is a lion, that represents the royalty of the king of the jungle. The prominence of the Tilak (Chandrakor) is a symbol of blessings bestowed upon warriors and the overarching saffron colour is a way of paying homage to Maharashtra’s heritage. It is a statement that states that Puneri Paltan is here to rule the world of Kabaddi.

Commenting on the occasion, Shraddha Nathani, Head – Marketing, Puneri Paltan said,

“Our fans are our valued stakeholders, and this has been a collaborative campaign. We wanted to ensure that the new identity cherishes the warrior spirit and glory. The new identity gives the brand a global contemporary look with a brand story rooted in its origin.”

The new logo was designed by Ting Works LLP and sharing their thoughts on the occasion they said,

“Working with Puneri Paltan was a creative journey we're glad we embarked upon. The inspiration was to unearth the traditions of Maharashtra and incorporate them into the brand's new identity, all the while, not losing the ethos of the culture that forms the core of Puneri Paltan.”
