Puneri Paltan promotes kabaddi among school students
A one of its kind, biggest Inter-School Kabaddi Tournament was organized by Puneri Paltan in Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Krida Sankul, Indrayani Nagar Pune for two days.
32 teams (24 boys teams and 8 girls teams) from schools participated in the tournament. It was held over two days, and captured the interest of the young talent and promoted one fo the country’s best, but most-neglected sports.
Puneri Paltan is initiated one of the first and the biggest school Kabaddi tournaments at school level to promote kabaddi at the youth level.
Since Maharashtra is the hub of kabaddi and the greatest players have come up from Maharashtra, Puneri Paltan as a Kabaddi team wants to build the kabaddi culture in Pune, across age groups. By organising the school level championship, it is aiming to target kids, teachers/faculties and parents to consider Kabaddi as a next career option.
The tournament was played in accordance with Pro-Kabaddi rules and regulations on the indoor championship mats of Puneri Paltan.
The students were motivated by the teachers and players of Puneri Paltan. Ashok Shinde, the team’s coach, also imparted his knowledge and experience to the students, and was seen giving some tips to the students throughout the game.
