In Match No. 102 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 5, Puneri Paltan will clash against UP Yoddha as a part of the Inter-Zone Challenge Week at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.

The Puneri Paltan notched up a win last night against the home team, Tamil Thalaivas while the UP Yoddhas is also coming into this encounter on the back of a big 16-45 win against Dabang Delhi.

The Pune side are third in the points tally in Zone A with 52 points off 10 wins but have played a fewer number of matches as compared to Gujarat and Haryana, given that their home leg schedule is still to be played. It was an all-round display from the Paltan last night, wherein each player contributed to the scoreline in order to power the team to the finish line. The raiders in the likes of the skipper, Deepak Hooda and Rajesh Mondal picked up 11 points between them and even saved the team from a potential all-out at one point in time.

Post that, the defenders ensured that they kept the rival attack at bay with Sandeep Narwal, young Monu, Girish Ernak and Ravi Kumar combining well on their own shore with some effective and lethal tackles. They will have to continue the same kind of display against the UP attack which is more threatening as compared to the Thalaiva one.

UP Yoddha, on the other hand, will yet again be on the hunt for a win in order to climb up the ladder in the Zone B points tally where they are third, behind the Patna Pirates and Bengal Warriors. The UP captain, Nitin Tomar has been in golden form in the recent matches and has been absolutely rampant when it comes to raiding, picking up 15 points against Delhi in the last match.

He is supported in his strides by Rishank Devadiga, who has put up a consistent show as well alongside third raider, Surender Singh who has a knack of thriving in pressure situations. The defence of the UP team has been bolstered by the presence of two young guns, Nitesh Kumar and Sagar Krishna who have done the bulk of the scoring when it comes to initiating and executing tackles, overshadowing the experienced Jeeva Kumar in this regard.
