U Mumba vs Dabang Delhi: Can the Eagles finish their campaign on a high?

A still from the Eagles’ earlier encounter against U Mumba

Delhi-based franchise Dabang Delhi Kabaddi Club will take on hosts U Mumba in their last clash of the ongoing edition of the Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League. The last league match day will feature a double header with Puneri Paltan taking on Bengal Warriors in the first tie of the day.

The Eagles will be hoping to end their 3rd season campaign on a high as they have just managed to win 1 of their 13 league games played so far. On the other hand, the defending champions U Mumba will be looking for a win that will take them to the top of the league standings, overtaking Patna Pirates on the way.

With star raiders Kashiling Adake and Surjeet Singh sitting out tonight's match, promising young raiders Selvamani and Anil Nimbolkar will be expected to steer the ship to safety against the dangerous U Mumba side. The Eagles star defender Sandeep Dhull has been influential in the last few matches and once again will have to take the responsibility to organise their defence in order to stop the threat posed by the trio of Anup Kumar, Rishank and Rakesh Kumar.

Hosts U Mumba has not lost a single tie at home since losing the final of season 1 to Jaipur Pink Panthers and will be confident of finishing the league phase at top position. Rishank Devadiga has been in sublime form for the defending champions and has already secured 86 raid points this season, ranking 4th in the season’s leaderboard for most raid points collected.

The home side came out on top when the two teams met earlier in the tournament at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Bengaluru with a comfortable 30-17 win.

It will be a tough for the Eagles to get themselves on the winning side of this contest, but if they do, it would be an amazing win over the table-toppers and at least, they will have something to take back that will help them to organise themselves better for the next season.
