Wife of Indian Kabaddi star Rohit Kumar commits suicide
Lalita, the 27-year-old wife of national-level Kabaddi player Rohit Kumar was found dead on Monday evening around 7.30 pm in Nangloi's Ashok Mohalla in West Delhi. She was found hanging at her home after she allegedly committed suicide, the police reported.
The pair tied the knot seven months back. After a thorough scan of the location, the officials managed to scrape out a suicide note and also a long video recording in which she alleged dowry demands made by her husband's family.

"Lalita mentioned in her note that she has was forced to stay alone while her in-laws used to stay in Kanjhawala, Delhi. She was upset with his husband's frequent visits out of the city," said Vijay Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police was quoted by the Indian Express.
He also added, "Last weekend, Rohit allegedly told her to leave him. Lalita mentioned in the note that she was asked by her husband to leave him for his happiness, and thus she took this step."
The two-hour long video described her allegations in detail against the 'mental' and the 'physical harassment' she was exposed to. The police have said that an enquiry will be initiated regarding the matter.

Lalita’s father, Karan Singh, stated Kumar dropped off his wife midway instead of bringing her home on September 24 and added, “She was very disturbed since then. On Monday evening, we had gone to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib to pray for her. She was alone at home from 2 pm. She told us would clean the house for Diwali. When we returned, she did not open the door. We broke the door and found her hanging.”
Mr. Singh claimed they had gifted a sedan to Rohit's family during the wedding, but the demand was for an SUV. Lalita met Rohit in college when he used to come for swimming practice. Rohit's parents who lived separately, are also reportedly missing. The police are yet to question Rohit.
Rohit made his debut in the Pro Kabaddi League for the U Mumba team under the captaincy of Anup Kumar. However, he didn't manage to perform too well, and he made a move to Patna Pirates where he ended up putting in quite a few brilliant performances. He racked up 112 raid points in 12 matches in the third season of Pro Kabaddi, thus establishing himself as a certified star.
He now currently plays for the Bengaluru Bulls and is one of the best kabaddi players in the Pro Kabaddi league.
