Right! Australia came out on top in the battle of two-fierce rivals. The belligerent start from Warner and Head set the tone and they managed to post a total over 200, which is always tough to chase in conditions like this. England felt the heat after Zampa's introduction and Australia took a firm grip in the game when Buttler got dismissed.
Australia get their second win in the group to stay on top, while England are in the fourth place with a poor net run rate. One slip up from here would knock the defending champions out of the tournament, so they need to win all their remaining three matches to stay in contention for the next round.
It's time to end the coverage here. Hope you enjoyed it, until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Prabuddha signing off. Goodnight
Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain) - Very pleased with the effort, The experience players showing us what they are capable of when we needed them the most. The way we started is the difference in the game. To be honest, it's an experience group and they know what to do in these conditions. Patty was outstanding because he bowled in the tough end. We need to keep learning and keep progressing
Jos Buttler (England Captain) - They came up with a lot of intent and put us under lot of pressure. It was tough to drag it back from here. They bowled really well too and picked up wickets at crucial moments. The conditons are quite extreme and they played really well. He bowled well, he has so much variety and skill, it's good to have him back. Outside the powerplay was a challenge and Australia played well than us. Zampa bowled really well. We played a good team today and lets ourselves down
Adam Zampa (Player of the Match): Yeah almost plucked that catch out. We play against England a lot and know a lot about their players. We tried to make use of the dimensions of the ground. We saw how England went about things in the middle overs and adapted accordingly. It was hard to hit sixes and boundaries there. After bowling a few deliveries I found my length. I saw the ball not bouncing from certain places and tries to hit the area.
Australia won by 36 runs
Australia were aggressive with the bat and they backed it up with a clinical bowling performance in the middle overs to outclass the defending champions. England had a strong start to this run chase as Buttler & Salt took the pace trio on and ended the powerplay on a strong note. But Zampa's introduction resulted in a wicket for the Aussies straightaway as he got the better of Salt. Buttler's presence gave headaches to the opposition until his reverse sweep went straight to Cummins at backward point
The momentum was with Australia after Buttler's wicket and they didn't let it slip at any stage. Things became interesting when Mooen Ali hammered Maxwell for three sixes in the over but Marsh went back to his pacers straightaway and Hazlewood & Cummins repaid the captain's faith. Mooen's cameo was the only positive thing for England after the drinks break
The conditions suited the pacers very much and the Aussies used it effectively to take a firm grip in the match. Chasing 200+ total on this two-paced track is always tough even for a good batting side like England. They managed to score just a solitary six from overs 14-19

19.6 Marcus Stoinis to Harry Brook, FOUR!!! Full outside the off stump. Brook swings hard at it and gets an outside edge over short third for a boundary. But Australia win this game by 36 runs and it seems gloom for the defending champions as far as qualifications to the next round is concerned.
19.5 Marcus Stoinis to Chris Jordan, short and slower at the off stump. Jordan tries to pull it but gets it on his body and takes a single of the leg bye.
19.4 Marcus Stoinis to Harry Brook, good length and a cutter at the middle and leg. Slashed away to deep mid-wicket for a single.
19.3 Marcus Stoinis to Chris Jordan, short and slower at the first time. Pulled to deep mid-wicket for a single.
