While the playoffs teams were already finalised but it was not until the final day of the league phase that we got to know who faces who. So as it stands, the Sylhet Strikers will lock horns against the Comilla Victorians in Qualifier 1 while the Rangpur Riders will play the eliminator against Fortune Barishal. The winner of the first team directly goes through to the final while the loser plays the winner of the eliminator clash. This could be exciting stuff but for now we still have a league game left with very little consequence. So till the next time, it’s goodbye from the commentary box. This is Arya Sekhar Chakraborty signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator Mohul Bhowmick.
Tanvir Islam | Player of the Match: Feeling very good. Was determined to perform well this season and glad that it is coming out well. I've been practicing a lot and have been trying to bowl by adapting to the batter's mindset.
Nurul Hasan, captain of Rangpur Riders: It is a miserable result for us, but it has served as a timely wake-up call. We will definitely have a lot of changes in the next game and ensure we get back with our chins held high. Comilla did very well today, and full credit to them. We will have to do better in our next games.
Comilla Victorians won by 70 runs
Comilla Victorians 177/5 in 20 overs Litton Das 47(33) | Khushdil Shah 40*(20) | Azmatullah Omarzai 2/34
Rangpur Riders 107 all-out in 17 overs Rahmanullah Gurbaz 29(22) | Mustafizur Rahman 3/18(3) | Tanvir Islam 2/26
It was a thoroughly professional bowling effort from the Comilla Victorians as they eased past the Rangpur Riders by 70 runs and stamped their authority on the match. It was a poor showing from the Rangpur Riders batters on a pitch that looked a belter. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and could never really pose a challenge against the Victorians bowlers. Eventually, they were bowled out for just 107 on the final delivery of the 17th over.
Tanvir Islam spun a web in the powerplay, restricting the run flow and also bagged some crucial wickets. Barring Rahmanullah Gurbaz, none of the batters could get going and kept giving away their wickets cheaply. Gurbaz looked in good shape and smashed some lusty blows before perishing at a crucial juncture of the game.
It kept going down the barrel for the Riders as none of the other batters could make an impact. Mustafizur Rahman bowled a splendid spell in the middle overs and then came back to bag two more to seal the deal for the Comilla Victorians. None of the middle-order batters could make any impact as the wickets kept falling on regular intervals. Gurbaz was the top scorer with 29 while Mustafizur was the pick of the bowlers, bagging 3 in his 4 over spell.
After winning the toss, Nurul Hasan put the Victorians in and they did a great job to post a more than competitive 177 on the board. Experts on the ground thought it might not be enough but the bowlers proved it wrong and managed to bowl out Rangpur for just 107. This will be a reality check for the Rangpur Riders ahead of the playoffs.
Unfortunately, there was a technical error at our end. We deeply regret and profoundly apologize for the inconvenience caused. The game has come to an end- the Comilla Victorians have beaten the Rangpur Riders by 70 runs!

12.6 Tanvir Islam to Rakibul Hasan, FOUR! STREAKY BUT USEFUL RUNS! Fired through outside off, keeps going straight. Hasan flicks at it but gets an outside edge that goes past the short third man fielder for a boundary!
12.5 Tanvir Islam to Rakibul Hasan, at a length outside off. Hasan tries to play the reverse sweep but is BEATEN!
12.4 Tanvir Islam to Rakibul Hasan, SIX! Tossed up outside off, turns back in. Hasan steps down the track and boldly lofts it away over long on for a maximum! That was a good shot by Hasan- they will need more of these.
12.3 Tanvir Islam to Rakibul Hasan, pushed through outside off, turns back in. Hasan manages to pat it back.
