Faf du Plessis, Joburg Super Kings captain: It's an incredible run that is. 100/1, the way the boys came back from there was unbelievable. Spinners were much harder to play, to be able to go to the reserve banks, Reeza (Hendricks) and Donavon, part-time spinners, but they bowled beautifully. It was one of those wickets which was really tough to bat against spinner's upfront, really really sloppy, a bit of grip, there were a few soft dismissals, so I and Donavon Ferreira were trying to build a partnership. The way that he countered and the shots that he played, he's an unbelievable cricketer who has a great future ahead of him, very very proud of him today. It's just a case of planning before a match, getting to the pitch and its completely the opposite, all the planning goes out the window. The conditions were like we needed to get some pace off. The ball was really stopping, so we knew if we could get the two lefties out it'd be a bit easier, as soon as we did so I thought that we were in with an opportunity. I think its a very scratchy, ugly win, we actually spoke about it before the game, talking about the conditions here.
Donavon Ferreira, Player Of The Match: Felt quite good, first time out here in the SA20, lots of excitement in smashing it around. I'm just trying to focus on my game, the coaching staff ensured that I was picked for a reason, and I was lucky enough to get that price tag in the auction. I didn't let that affect me too much, just tried to focus on my game. I like playing a positive brand of cricket. Flem said there's a lot of batters in the shed, so you can play your game. I just looked to hit straight, fortunately it came off. The pitch was up and down, some were turning, some weren't, it was really important to keep a good shape. It largely has been a roller coaster, I've bowled, kept, batted, so when Kyle (Verreynne) was back, Faf said can you bowl your offies a bit, I've bowled a bit in the nets, it worked out today. I hadn't bowled for about 6 months, lucky that it worked today.

Quinton de Kock (Durban Super Giants skipper): Obviously when Donavon came in he put up a counter-attack and succeeded. I got out at the worst possible situation. These are the two situations where it turned for us. We will take the learnings and go forward. Well, just the pack the bags and get moving. Can't be upset about tonight and get ourselves ready for the next game.

Much like the first innings, the run-chase was of two halves. But in this case, the first half was much more substantial compared to the second. On a wicket where most top-order batters struggled on today, Quinton de Kock and Kyle Mayers made batting look like a piece of cake, mercilessly tonking the pace bowlers early on. Faf du Plessis had to resort to slow bowling briskly after the first couple of overs went for 28. There weren't any frontline spinners, so Faf employed the part-time off-spin of Reeza Hendricks, and it paid off handsomely. While the bowlers at the other end were belted to all parts, Hendricks, bowling to the two left-handers for all of his spell, finished with figures of none for 14 in his four overs and kept his team in the hunt.
Some nifty work from Kyle Verreynne behind the stumps to dismiss Mayers helped in break the opening partnership and the game wide open. De Kock, though, continued on his merry way, but Heinrich Klaasen, the new man, struggled to get his timing right from the start of his innings. It was Donavon Ferreira, the other off-spinner that the Joburg Super Kings had in their armoury, who accounted for the left-handed de Kock, and suddenly, with two new batters at the crease, the momentum seemed to shift towards the Super Kings prominently.
Aaron Phangiso and Alzarri Joseph then proceeded to apply the squeeze on DSG in contrasting styles, with Klaasen and Mulder unable to read the behaviour of the ball off the wicket well enough. The required rate kept climbing as the boundaries dried up. Klaasen eventually found the boundary, but departed off the next delivery. Malusi Siboto, handed the penultimate over, got lucky with a high full toss, which accounted for Wiaan Mulder.
With 38 still required in less than two overs, the game seemed to slip out of the hosts' hands. However, a couple of towering sixes from Dwaine Pretorius just about kept them in the hunt as Siboto lost his radar briefly. The medium pacer did well to close out the over, and then Alzarri Joseph varied his pace to perfection to seal the game in the final over.
The Joburg Super Kings triumph in a high-scoring thriller played on a slow and low track! It's been a remarkable comeback from them; they looked down and out after the first six overs, but their spinners kept it really tight and took the game away from Durban's Super Giants!
