That is all we have from the 1st semi-final of ECS T10 Malta. The Edex Knights have booked a place in the final. Do join us for the 2nd semi-final and the final which will be played later today. Till then, it's ta-ta from me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) and my fellow commentator and good mate Mohul Bhowmick.
A hard-fought match and in the end, the Edex Knights held their nerves and won the 1st semi-final by 10 runs. It will be the 3rd final for the Knights. It was a good bowling effort from them to restrict the Bugibba Blasters to 86/6 in their allotted 10 overs after posting a challenging 96 on the board.
Jais Mathew and Bose Paul started off well for the Knights as they kept things tight and didn't allow the Blaster's openers and the middle order to get away. None of the top-order batters could get going as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Gaurav Maithani, their skipper and Devendra Negi got the innings going with some lusty blows but couldn't quite convert it into a substantial one.
Towards the end, Prajwal Kohad and Pavan Kalyan kept the Blasters in the game with some splendid hitting but that eventually came a bit too late as the Knights registered a 10-run victory. Jais Mathew was the pick of the bowlers for the Edex Knights, finishing with figures of 2/21.
Earlier, the Edex Knights posted 96 in their 10 overs and were bowled out on the final delivery of the innings. The innings was powered by an impressive knock by Nithin Babu who scored 34 off 17 deliveries to take his team to a competitive score.
