That brings us to the end of our coverage for this encounter. Since the post match coverage was in Tamil we couldn't cover the quotes. Apologies for the inconvenience but for now this is me (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off also on behalf of my fellow commentator Lavil Saldanha. Goodnight! Cheers!
Dindigul Dragons won by 8 wickets (with 7 deliveries to spare, match reduced to 13 overs per side)
Boopathi Kumar 51*(25) | Suboth Bhati 3/14(3) S Radhakrishnan 36(30) | P Bhuvaneswaran 1/15(3)
The Dindigul Dragons' hundred per cent record against the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans continued as they chased down the target of 109 with seven deliveries to spare in a rain-curtailed game which was reduced to 13 overs. P Bhuvaneswaran started off well with the new ball and kept things under check, eventually leading to Shivam Singh's dismissal in the third over.
The run-scoring seemed a bit difficult until Vimal Khumar and Baba Indrajith found a couple of boundaries to end the powerplay. Mohamed Ali and Sai Ajith Ram bowled brilliantly in their first overs with the latter bagging an important wicket of Vimal Khumar. It was Boopathi Kumar who came in at the fall of Vimal’s wicket which provided the much-needed impetus the Dindigul Dragons required.
He started with a six off Mohamed Ali’s over. Sai Kishore kept things under check and with 36 required off the last 4 overs, the onus was on Yorker specialist T Natrajan to deliver the goods. However, the best bowler from the Tamizhans was taken to the cleaners, conceding 16 runs at a crucial juncture of the game. 20 runs from three overs was never going to be a problem for the Dragons. It was Boopathi who finished the match off with a couple of sixes.
Boopathi Kumar finishes it off in style and Dindigul Dragons have romped home by 8 wickets. It was a fitting end to the match by Boopathi Kumar who had already some exceptional shots. The Tamizhans remains winless against the Dindigul Dragons. The Tamizhans posted a competitive score but it didn't prove to be enough as the chase turned out to be a pretty straightforward one.
11.5 Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore to Boopathi Kumar, SIX MORE! BOOPATHI ENDS THE CHASE! Slower one from Sai Kishore outside off, Boopathi does well to get under that one and sends it sailing over deep midwicket to end the game. Dindigul Dragons beat IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans by 8 wickets
11.4 Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore to Boopathi Kumar, SIX! Full length delivery on the line outside off stump, Kumar picks that one up nicely and sends it sailing over deep backward square leg for a maximum
That six should seal the deal for the Dindigul Dragons. Gets down on one knee and sends the sweep over the backward square leg boundary.
11.3 Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore to Baba Indrajith, length delivery on the line of the fourth stump. It takes the pads and runs down towards third man for a single
11.2 Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore to Baba Indrajith, full length delivery on the line of the off stump. Indrajith goes inside out towards extra cover for a quick brace
11.1 Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore to Boopathi Kumar, back of a length delivery on the middle and off stump. Boopathi cuts that one towards point for a single
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore is back into the attack.
