So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator, Pradeep as we wrap up the coverage of this fixture. Do join us at Sportskeeda tomorrow with plenty of cricket coming up including the second T20I between the West Indies and India.
Thisara Perera [Jaffna Kings captain]: Just another bad day, it happens in cricket, you can't win everyday and there's bad days too. It was just the batting that let us down, will look to get back strong next game. Wicket was uneven, the batters couldn't do well and it's just another bad day. We will come back stronger.
Wanindu Hasaranga is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: I tried to bowl stump to stump, I tried to do the basics and it worked. Plan was for right-handers was already plotted and it worked. We lost first two games and bounced back well now. Fakhar Zaman wasn't there first two games, he's joined us and helped us. Jaffna are a very good side, the batting unit and in this format, we have to do basics well to win, doesn't matter who the players are.
What a dominating performance from B-Love Kandy as they register an eight-wicket victory over the three-time champions, Jaffna Kings. B-Love Kandy almost sealed the match after restricting Jaffna to just 117-9. The chase didn't get off to a rapid start as Kandy only managed 11 runs off the first over. But Dinesh Chandimal eventually opened up as he cracked 16 runs off the fifth over bowled by Thisara Perera. Nandre Burger came into the attack and immediately castled Chandimal but Wanindu Hasaranga promoted himself to No.3 to signal his intent.
The B-Love Kandy skipper struggled to get going initially but he started to unleash some special strokes as soon as the spinners came into the attack. The confidence soon helped Fakhar Zaman too as the Pakistani opener found his touch and found the fence on a few occasions. Fakhar's 42-run knock eventually came to an end as he holed out to long-on off Maheesh Theekshana's bowling. Yet, Hasaranga didn't waste any time as he raced onto a 21-ball fifty before finishing the match too with seven overs to spare!
