Right then, what a game we have witnessed! Over 400 runs being scored once again at Eden Gardens and this time, it's the Sunrisers Hyderabad who win this contest! They continue the recent trend of visiting sides winning contests. A special knock from Harry Brook and he has finally announced his arrival on the big stage. That's all we have for you then. It was a pleasure bringing to you this contest! Join us back tomorrow for Super Saturday as we have some cracking games lined-up! Until then, this is me, Maanas Upadhyay, alongside Pratyush Rohra, bidding you adieu! Good night!
Harry Brook (Player of the Match): Yeah it was a special night. Thankfully we got over the line and it's good to be on the winning side tonight. Yeah a lot of people say opening is the best position to bat. I'm open to bat anywhere - I've made my name batting at number 5. Unfortunate my Test knocks will be above this one. There was one ball where Chakravarthy was bowling to me and the crowd was going mental so it was good to see the crowd. I was putting pressure on myself. People on social media call you rubbish. But today I played with the carefree attitude. There will be a lot of Indian fans who will be praising me today who were slagging me off a few days ago - glad I could shut them up.
Aiden Markram (Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper): I suppose we'll take our second win from home. The total was never safe but hats off to the bowlers. At a venue like this, the pitch played well - you never really know but you back your batters out there who play with intent. Fortunate that we got off to a great start and it allows you to play with freedom. With the Impact Player, you bat deep and it allows you to play. It worked out well today (promoting Brook to the top) and giving a player like that more balls to play does well for a franchise. Kudos to him (Bhuvi) for keeping calm and giving his best. It's a great bunch of guys but there are a few areas where we can work on. It's nice for us to still be able to grow as a team.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (Sunrisers Hyderabad): First of all to start, we wanted to get wickets up front. That's the best way to stop any side. The way they scored in the sixth over, we took some blows. When you defend this kind of total, you take that and still try to defend the total. (Death bowling) It depends. I'm not a big gan of bowling too many slower balls. If you can execute your variations and bowl in the right areas, you can come out on top. You also have to keep it depending on the batters and the dimensions. (Advice to Umran in the final over) 32 runs are not easy to get in the last over. We wanted to back him to bowl the first two balls and he did that. We didn't want to confuse him too much. (Pitch) Great for the batters, not so much for the bowlers. Really good wicket, the batters can come hard, but if you can hit the right lengths, it's never easy to hit. Good to get the win. (Harry Brook) It was a top-class innings. We needed that kind of an innings for him. He wasn't in the runs in the last few matches so to have him score is great. We know his capabilities and that's why stuck with him at the top of the order. Very happy that he's got some runs under his belt.
Nitish Rana (Kolkata Knight Riders): The way we bowled, we didn't bowl to our plans. 230 was a huge total, so I feel like we could have planned and executed better in the bowling department. We know what Rinku did that day doesn't happy every day. The way we batted tonight, pretty happy. We spoke about taking the game deep because anything can happen. That was the mindset. Whatever I got in my arc, I took my changes. There is some home advantage but we know this is how the Eden Gardens surfaces will play. On a given day if your bowlers concede runs, it's okay. It happens on bad days. I know these will be the bowlers that win be the game next time.
Harry Brook 100*(55) | Aiden Markram 50(26) | Andre Russell 3-22(2.1) Nitish Rana 75(41) | Rinku Singh 58*(31) | Mayank Markande 2-27(4)
Whew! What a game we have been treated to! An exhibition of some terrific batting and in the end, it is the Sunrisers Hyderabad who emerge on top by just 23 runs. Credit to the Knight Riders to go deep into the contest after losing three wickets in the power play itself - which is usually a recipe for failure as history has proven more often than not.
Chasing 229 runs was not going to be a mean feat by any means and the Knight Riders did not get off to the best of starts, losing three quick wickets in the power play as Bhuvneshwar and Jansen kept matters tight. However, their recovery started once skipper Nitish Rana made his way to the middle. The ace batter scored a scintillating 75 runs and despite losing a couple of partners, kept going.
Rinku Singh blasted his way to a half century but in the end, it proved to not be enough as the Knight Riders fell short by 23 runs. Some belligerent hitting on display right throughout the game and it just shows what a belter of a track was in store for us at Eden Gardens. And on that track, Mayank Markande and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's spells must be appreciated, with both of them conceding less than 30 runs in a 229 run chase. For the Knight Riders, they will have lots of positives to take from this contest while the Sunrisers collect their second win on the trot and move upwards in the points table!

19.6 Umran Malik to Rinku Singh, SRH HOLD THEIR NERVE! At the back of a length outside the off-stump. Rinku flat-bats it dow not long-off and has to settle for a single. No victory springs for him tonight, because it's the Sunrisers Hyderabad who win by 23 runs!
19.5 Umran Malik to Rinku Singh, SIX! How's that gone all the way? Because it was delivered at 144.6kmph maybe. Dug in short and Rinku tried to take it on, getting a top edge that kept sailing over the fine leg boundary
19.4 Umran Malik to Rinku Singh, back of a length outside the off-stump. Rinku pulls it to deep square leg and doesn't take the single
