That is it from this game. This is Probuddha Bhattacharjee signing off from this game, on behalf of my co-commentator, Kartik Raj. Do stay tuned on Sportskeeda and enjoy the live coverage from the world of cricket.
Heinrich Klaasen (Seattle Orcas Captain): Yeah after that first match we needed to up our intensity. The bowlers did a decent job and then the batters too responsibility. On a small ground, our intensity was what made the difference. We have a nice group of local players and with the experience of players like Quinton de Kock and others this seems a good unit. In that last over, Quinnie was in control, so did not worry too much.
Sunil Narine (Los Angeles Captain): I thing we got a decent start but they did a great job in the middle overs. Overall we did not do well today and need to make a come back in the next match. We hoped to have got past the 160 mark and then pick up a couple of wickets early but that did not happen. New conditions and will be looking to bounce back strong.
Ryan Rickelton (Most Valuable Player of the Match): Different experience. Great to be out playing cricket. Happy to contribute to the win and get the points. (When he was close to the century) I was panicking and Quinny wasn't helping as well. Always fun to play with him, obviously he is a phenomenal player. It got a lot better, was a bit sticky up front and that is why we chose to bowl first. We definitely benefitted batting second. (Single to get the century) Was a shocking run and I said to Quinny we are going no matter what and luckily Sunny (Sunil Narine) missed.
Time for the Presentation Ceremony!
Wayne Parnell: When you get such a big partnership, one guy getting a century and another a fifty, you are going to win on most occasions. I have been very sick the past week, just trying to get out of the hotel room. Rickelton was flying and that gave Quinny (Quinton de Kock) to take time and the roles reversed at the end. Trying to grow the game of cricket and hopefully, the bucket hats are part of it.
End of match!!!! Los Angeles Knight Riders - 168/5 (20 Overs) Seattle Orcas - 169/1 (19.5 Overs)
Jason Roy - 69 (42) | Zaman Khan - 2/24 (4 Overs) Ryan Rickelton - 103*(66) | Spencer Johnson - 1/28 (4 Overs)
Seattle Orcas have won this match by nine wickets with three balls remaining.
Earlier in the day, Heinirch Klaasen won the toss and invited the Los Angeles Knight Riders to bat first. The Los Angeles Knight Riders did not have a great start to their innings as they lost Sunil Narine early in the innings. However, Jason Roy stuck at one end and kept things going. He scored 69 runs off 52 balls and kept the innings propelling. The Orcas bowler did a great job throughout the innings as they did not allow the Knights to get off the hook. But in the last over of the innings, David Miller blasted away Nandre Burger for 24 runs and took the team team total to a fighting 168/5 in 20 overs.
In the chase, the Orcas lost an wicket early and the start was a bit slow. However, Ryan Rickelton soon picked up pace and gave the momentum to the chase. Quinton de Kock played a perfect second fiddle to Rickelton and the duo ensured that the Orcas marched smoothly towards the target.
Rickelton scored a brilliant 103 off 66 deliveries and remained unbeaten with Quinton de Kock (51* off 46) to take the team home.
The Orcas have now won one and los one in their campaign. On the other hand, the Knight Riders have lost two games on the bounce after winning the first match against the Super Kings.
19.5 Ali Khan to Ryan Rickelton, THE ORCAS WIN BY NINE WICKETS! Low full-toss on the stumps, Rickelton flicks it to long-on for a single and that brings up Seattle Orcas' win with a ball to spare!
19.4 Ali Khan to Quinton de Kock, full and slow down the leg-side, de Kock tries to swing hard but he misses it. Leg-bye taken with the ball rolling to fine-leg.
19.3 Ali Khan to Quinton de Kock, full outside-off, de Kock drills it to mid-off and Rickelton wants a single but he is sent back. Good call.
