What a huge win for the Lucknow Supergiants. They needed this win desperately here which has put a lot of pressure on the Mumbai Indians. Even if they win their last game, they have to be at their best and win big to qualify. Their net run rate is still in the negative. MI plays their last league game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and their net run rate has meant that even a win might not be enough for them to go through to the final four. Another important game coming up tomorrow. Punjab Kings need a win to keep their hopes qualify while DC will be playing for pride. So up until then, this is goodbye and goodnight from myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) and my fellow commentator Shashwat Kumar. Cheers!!
Marcus Stoinis (Player of the Match): Great moment for Mohsin. He has been injured for a year so a big moment for him to come and bowl just a superb final over. Look, it was very close obviously. They batted brilliantly, we bowled okay and then some good overs from the spinners and Mohsin towards the end sealed it for us. We have shown in the last two years that we play as a team. There is no single superstar. We are missing KL this year but the other guys are standing up. KP has led really well. I have been spending a lot of time with Andy Flower.
Krunal Pandya (Lucknow Supergiants captain): I was having cramps and I felt I pulled a muscle. I have been always a team player and great to bag the win. I mean Mohsin has a really big heart. Someone with a big heart goes a long way. He didn’t play for a year, underwent a surgery and then to come back in the IPL and perform like this shows his mental toughness. Sky is the limit for him. Really happy to end on a good note here. Fans have come out and supported us every day so nice to give them something back.
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony with Sanjay Manjrekar.
Mohsin Khan: My aim was to do whatever I was doing in practice. Krunal bhai asked me what I as planning to bowl and I said I will bowl whatever I bowl in the nets. My run up is the same. I was trying to keep myself calm. I knew I had to bowl six good deliveries and didn't look at the scorecard. I was thinking of bowling slower balls but then when the batters adjusted I changed it to yorkers. I am playing after one year. I am very happy that I could bowl like the previous year. I was playing for dad who has been in the ICU for the last 10 days. I am thankful to my teammates, the team management and the support staff for including me in this game.
Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians captain: (Where was the game lost) We just lost the game, that's all I want to say. We did not play well enough. There were moments that we did not win - little moments that you have to win. Unfortunate but you have to keep your heads high. (On their strong start) Not really. We assessed the pitch really well. It was a good pitch to bat on. We thought that that score was definitely chaseable. We lost our way in the second half of our innings a little bit. In hindsight, we gave too many runs at the back end. We held up pretty well until then. (On Stoinis) He played really well, playing according to his strengths. Kept hitting down the ground, which is what you have to do in these conditions - credit to him. I do not know how the calculations are going to work. We have to come out and play good cricket again (in their last league fixture).

What a final over and what a way to seal the game. Great win for the Lucknow Supergiants as they storm up the points table, securing the 3rd position. It wasn't easy for Mohsin Khan defending 11 and he did that quite comfortably in the end. Mumbai Indians still keep their hopes alive but it gets a bit difficult for them from here on. Even if they win their next match, they are not guaranteed a finish in the top four.
Mumbai Indians needed to get off to a good start to get anywhere close to the victory target. 178 was never going to be an easy run chase but the LSG bowlers failed to execute their plans in the powerplay which allowed MI to get off to a great start. Ishan Kishan started off the onslaught with a flurry of boundaries before Rohit Sharma took the onus on himself to find the boundaries.
Rohit struck three incredible sixes and Ishan kept finding the gaps on a consistent basis. Both of them batted superbly and when they were at the crease, it looked job done for the five-time champions. However, the wicket of Rohit Sharma turned the game on its head and from there on LSG forced their way back into the game and managed to squeeze out some tidy overs in the middle.
Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant half-century and after his departure, the onus was on Suryakumar Yadav to get them close to the target. His dismissal without bothering the scorers much was a huge moment in the game. Nehal Wadhera also didn't manage to find the gaps as MI lost their way a bit towards the final half of the innings. They struggled to get the boundaries and it was only when Tim David came out in the middle that he kept them in the hunt with some lusty blows.
The penultimate over from Naveen Ul Haq went for 19 runs and the pendulum was tilted towards the Mumbai Indians again. Mohsin came out with a superb final over and managed to nail his yorkers. It was Ravi Bishnoi who broke the backbone of MI with the wickets of Rohit and Ishan but the final over will be remembered from Mohsin. He looked a bit emotional during the post match presentation and dedicated his performance to his father who has been in the ICU for the last 10 days.

19.6 Mohsin Khan to Tim David, LSG WIN! Slower delivery on a length outside off stump. David swings for the hills and chunks it off the inside edge towards deep backward square leg. Gets back for the second but LSG have won this tight, tight contest by five runs!
What a superb final over and he has also sealed that for his team.
