FRANCE BEAT LUXEMBOURG BY 5 RUNS. Jubaid Ahamed 26 | Rohullah Mangal 3-20 Noman Amjad 24 and 2-7
Wow! What a game we have had here today. Everything seemed lost until Oscar Whiteman decided to take things into his own hands in the last over of this game bowled by Rohullah Mangal. He hit two huge sixes that brought Luxembourg close to chasing the total that the French set, but needing another biggie off the last ball, he somehow played and missed it.
It is unfortunate that Luxembourg are going out this way but kudos to France for holding their nerves till the very end. Their bowlers- both the Mangals in particular, Rahmatullah and Rohullah- were fantastic. Leggie Dawood Ahmadzai was brilliant in the field and there is no questioning that the French deserve every bit of the success that they have got here today.
Skipper Noman Amjad too chipped in with a couple of wickets in between. For Luxembourg, some poor decision-making came to the fore today: why was dangerman Shiv Karan Gill, who is known to hit a long ball, kept in the hut for so long? Neither Tony Whiteman nor Anoop Orsu had exactly set the tournament alight by their exploits, so to promote them ahead of Gill was a baffling decision from skipper Vikram Vijh.
We now move on to the second Qualifier of this tournament, which will be played between Scotland XI and France.

9.6 Rohullah Mangal to Oscar Whiteman, FRANCE HAVE WON IT! What a humdinger of a game! Dug in short around the grill, whistling past Whiteman to beat him all ends up! The French team are pulling out all the celebrations, and why not? Luxembourg have been knocked out! France win by 5 runs!
9.5 Rohullah Mangal to Oscar Whiteman, TOP EDGE... GOES ALL THE WAY! WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT? Back of a length delivery angled into Whiteman, who swings his bat blindly again. The top edge is so fortunate, flying over the keeper's head and all the way for a maximum. One more big hit to win it then!
9.4 Rohullah Mangal to Oscar Whiteman, back of a length slower one outside the off-stump, Whiteman throws the kitchen sink at it but only connects with thin air, dot ball
9.3 Rohullah Mangal to Oscar Whiteman, SIX! WHITEMAN ISN'T GIVING UP YET! Dug in short this time, Whiteman dances down the track and pulls it over mid-wicket and into the grassbanks. Game on!
9.2 Rohullah Mangal to Amit Dhingra, byes. Good length slower one outside off, sneaks past Dhingra's under edge this time. Whiteman is alert to the possibility of a bye as he scampers across to the other end
Last man to the crease is Amit Dhingra, RHB.
9.1 Rohullah Mangal to Shiv Karan Gill, SKIED... GONE! Dug in short this time, Gill steps out and throws his bat at it. Miscued in the air and for a simple catch for the keeper with the gloves on. France are almost there!
