That's all from this match as I, Lavil Saldanha alongside Arya take your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda for all the sports you love as we hope to see you some time soon, TA DA!
Jimmy Peirson: Milne was bowling at 140 kph and was swinging it both ways. I knew I had the power to get it done later on. So pleasing to get the job done against a very good Melbourne Stars side. The bowlers continued the great work from last year. Yes when you have get the job done. Wanted Maxi back in the side and hopefully he will have a great tournament.
10:25 pm local time, 4:55 pm IST: Brisbane Heat win the match by 8 wickets
Brisbane Heat: 163/2 after 18.1 overs Jimmy Peirson: 72(56b)* | Marcus Stoinis: 1/20 (4 overs) Max Bryant: 36(22b)* | Hamish McKenzie: 1/42 (4 overs)
Victory for Brisbane Heat! They were clinical with the ball in hand and did a fine job of restricting the stars to a moderate total. The Stars did a great job with the ball for the majority of the innings but lost the plot towards the end of the middle overs, which ultimately cost them the match. That makes it two losses in two games so far for the Stars.
163 was going to be tough with the big boundary sizes on offer but Jack Wood got the Brisbane Heat off to a good start, before being knocked over. Matt Renshaw was to blame himself for his dismissal and erstwhile, Jimmy Peirson struggled a bit to go off the blocks quite nicely but partnering alongside Max Bryant, the duo went after the bowling and chased the total down without much trouble.
The Stars looked a bit off with the ball in hand and their plans in the field as well. They had only two wicket takers in Marcus Stoinis and Hamish McKenzie with the latter being expensive. The other five bowlers failed to get a breakthrough, with Stoinis being the most economical bowler among the attack.
18.1 Tom Curran to Jimmy Peirson, that's game set and match for the Brisbane Heat. Full-length delivery well wide outside off, Peirson had to reach for it and ends up flaying it away towards the deep point region, comes back for three runs to complete the victory.
Tom Curran [3-0-31-0] comes back into the attack and will be bowling to Jimmy Peirson on strike
Only a matter for few runs for the Brisbane Heat. The Stars will be disappointed with the way they have gone about their business here and will want to make up for it in the forthcoming contest

17.6 Hamish McKenzie to Max Bryant, fuller-length delivery on the pads, Bryant with an aerial sweep down towards the deep backward square leg region and comes back for a brace.
17.5 Hamish McKenzie to Max Bryant, shorter this time a tad outside off, Bryant rocks back and bunts it away towards the widish long-off region, takes a couple.
17.4 Hamish McKenzie to Max Bryant, FOUR! A drag down wrong un around off and middle, gave Bryant enough time to rock back and pummels the pull away down towards the vacant midwicket boundary.
