That has been a good start to the T10 League. We had two matches and we have seen a fair share of boundaries and wickets. Sides will get better as they starts knowing the conditions better. We have three matches tomorrow as the fastest cricketing format takes centre stage at Abu Dhabi but for now this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) biding a goodbye. See you soon. Goodnight. Cheers!!
Angelo Mathews (Nothern Warriors captain): Yeah it was good, I didn't really realise it before the guy announced it. It was more important for the team to get over the line. It was a great start. Zazai played well and finished off brilliantly by Jimmy and Colin. It wasn't easy to defend but all the bowlers were brilliant and special mention to Mithun. Our catching was brilliant, we can still improve in all three departments and we have to keep pushing ourselves.
Abhimanyu Mithun is the Player of the Match, here is what he had to say: YEAH IT was a good team effort. We put up a decent score but the captain and coach had clear plans and we had to execute those things. Yeah everything worked according to plan.
Northern Warriors won by 8 runs
Colin Munro 36*(15) | Angelo Mathews 3/19(2) Moeen Ali 37(23) | Qais Ahmad 2/12(2)
It turned out to be a hard-fought contest in the end but the Northern Warriors will be more than happy to defend a relatively below-par score. While it wasn't an easy pitch to bat, 103 was just about competitive and never a winning score. The Morrisville Samp Army needed to get off to a steady start and it did happen for them. Youngster Andries Gous came out to open the innings in the company or Faf du Plessis and the U-19 star looked in a flowing touch.
He smashed a four and six before another young turk Azmatullah Omarzai accounted for his wicket. Captain Moeen Ali was the next man in and it was a perfect time for him to come in and show what he was capable of. Karim Janat and Najibullah Zadran chipped in with useful contributions but it was Moeen Ali who kept them in the hunt. His knock of 37 came in 23 deliveries which included a couple of fours and sixes each.
Abhimanyu Mithun bowled brilliantly in the middle overs taking two crucial wickets while Jimmy Neesham also bagged a couple each. With 20 required off the final over, Angelo Mathews took the ball himself and didn't disappoint. He went onto bag the first hat-trick in this season as the Saml Army was restricted 94/8 in their allotted 10 overs.

9.6 Angelo Mathews to Najibullah Zadran, SIX! Najibullah finishes it off in style but couldn't quite get Samp Army over the finish line. Northern Warriors win by 9 wickets. Was a length delivery around the middle stump, Najib waits for it and swipes across the line, finally gets the timing he was looking for.
9.5 Angelo Mathews to Najibullah Zadran, short of a length delivery a tad outside off, pulled away towards the deep midwicket region and returns for a couple of runs.
9.4 Angelo Mathews to Peter Hatzoglou, works away the back of a length delivery around middle, towards the deep midwicket region for a single.
Peter Hatzoglou, RHB is the new man in.
9.3 Angelo Mathews to Qais Ahmad, WICKET! Mathews gets the first hat-trick of the season. Was a slower good-length delivery a shade outside off, Qais tries to smash this down the ground, loses his shape altogether as he ends up slicing that straight down the throat of the long-off fielder.
